SOUND DESIGN 🎧 WHAT DOES METAL SOUND LIKE?

🎧 Headphones recommended.
Metal is more than what you see.
Deep resonances, raw vibrations and powerful metallic sounds hidden inside an ordinary railing and an entrance gate.
Exploring the unexpected side of everyday materials through sound.

Making a sample pack for @tree__nature’s latest creation, the “Cellimba.” 🌿

It’s a strange little handmade instrument built from tone rods salvaged from doorbells, Kalimba parts, and the wire frame of a floor fan. Lots of unexpected sounds hiding in this thing.

I’ve been recording it up close, but also exploring the deeper vibrations with a Geofon mic from @lom.audio to capture some of the sounds you don’t necessarily hear with your ears.

The samples will be available as 24-bit / 48kHz WAV one-shots, along with a playable Ableton Sampler instrument for Live 11.0 and higher.

Still exploring what it can do. More sounds and details coming soon. 🎛️🌱
