I joined Long Angle last month and did what I tend to do when I decide something is worth doing: I dove in with both feet. 😂

Their Annual Retreat was coming up, and I figured there was no better way to understand the community than to put myself in the room, meet the people, and learn.

I’m so grateful I made that investment in myself. I left with new friendships, pages of notes, and a lot to think about. A few takeaways:

✨ What you measure shapes how you live. We track revenue, net worth, productivity, sleep scores... but what would change if we also measured what makes life feel rich? Time with people we love. Movement. Experiences. Joy.

✨ Beneficial > optimal. Sometimes searching for the best answer keeps us from taking action on a really good one. This applies to health, investing, business, AI, and life.

✨ AI should give you time back, not become another job. Start small. Give it context. Treat it like a junior team member. And don’t spend three hours building an automation to save ten minutes. 😂

✨ Beware of FOMO disguised as opportunity. This especially resonated with the investor in me. You don’t need to chase every new investment or trend. Discernment matters.

One of the things I’m most grateful for in this chapter of my life is access to rooms like this, learning from incredibly smart, accomplished people who continually expand the way I think about business, investing, health, relationships, and life.

And I don’t want that access to stop with me.

That’s a big part of what ReAligned Collective is all about. ❤️ Giving our community a behind-the-curtain look at the best practices, ideas, tools, strategies, and patterns I’m learning across the rooms I’m fortunate enough to be in, then helping people actually apply them to their businesses and lives.

Because you shouldn’t have to be in every room to benefit from the lessons coming out of them.

If If you’ve already built a level of success and you’re thinking about what your next level looks like, in business and in life, come talk to me about ReAligned. Let’s build a life that’s successful by your definition, and designed around what matters most to you.

There's nothing like a blue sky afternoon on Lady Bird Lake (and in Austin, a little bit of cloud coverage is never a bad thing!) 🐟💙☁️

We had a blast organizing a day on the water with our friends at @fifthstreetdmc for the Long Angle Annual Retreat @longanglehnw in partnership with @austinrowingclub 🚣🏻

What starts as a single decision often transforms into a long-term wealth-building strategy. Many accidental landlords find themselves holding onto a property—whether due to a job relocation, an inheritance, or a great interest rate—only to realize the math works far better than expected.

It often begins with a modest goal: buy one home, hold it for 30 years, and treat it like a bonus 401k for retirement. But once the reality of equity and cash flow sets in, that theory turns into a tangible, addictive opportunity. Looking at the payoff schedule month after month creates a shift in perspective. Suddenly, the question changes from Why buy this one? to Why not keep building?

Twenty-five years later, the strategy remains simple, effective, and eye-opening. Real estate investing is less about luck and more about getting in the game and letting the numbers do the heavy lifting.

Ever wonder how the ultra-wealthy drop hundreds of millions on real estate without blinking? It turns out it’s not just about having the cash—it’s about avoiding the tax man.

When Jeff Bezos snaps up luxury properties across the country, he isn't selling his Amazon stock to foot the bill. Selling that stock would trigger a massive tax hit because of his low cost basis. Instead, the billionaires’ playbook relies on a strategy often described as Buy, Borrow, Die. By leveraging their massive portfolios to borrow against assets, they acquire what they want without ever triggering a taxable event. It’s a masterclass in wealth preservation that most people never get to see.

Ten years of bootstrapping, zero salary, and 100 employees later—the reality of building a software company isn't just the hustle, it's what happens after the exit.

After selling a company that took a decade to grow, this founder faced a new, unexpected challenge: how to manage sudden, hard-earned wealth without being sold products by big institutions. Instead of settling for traditional advisory services, he built the community he was actually looking for. It’s a masterclass in shifting from an operator mindset to a wealth-creation mindset.

Having the resources to solve every problem for your child isn't a luxury. It’s a leadership challenge.
We often think that more resources make parenting easier. But when you have the means to "buy" a path to success for your child, you're faced with a difficult temptation:
Should you fix the problem with a checkbook, or let them build the muscle of struggle?
Raising children in a setting of wealth requires more than just financial planning—it requires immense intention, discipline, and self-control from the parents.
It’s about knowing when to provide, and more importantly, when to step back. hashtag#parenting hashtag#selfimprovement #grit @andrewtaylor.bio @ronniegou

The deals that ruin people usually don’t look bad at first.

Episode 2 of Uncensored Wealth: The Game Behind the Game features Tad Fallows—who bootstrapped a software company for 10 years, exited, and built Long Angle into a 7,500-member community for first-generation wealth creators.

We unpack:
• how private market access really works
• where deals break
• why hype destroys businesses
• how to build something that actually lasts

A few months back, I had a vision of a curated space that would attract founders, operators, investors, athletes, and creatives who were all going to be in the same city for NBA All-Star Weekend. Happy to say that vision came to life!! 👏🏽⭐️🏀@justingordon8 and I hosted a special event to kick off NBA All-Star weekend for @jointhelagrind and @longanglehnw 250+ people (founders, operators, investors, athletes, and creatives) in a private residence in Hollywood, with amazing food and drinks from @lnkmezcal, curated art by @theniapov on 3 levels, and so many great conversations.

I’m grateful to our sponsors @aestudiola and @justworks for making this possible. As well as the support of our partner, @citizensprivatebank, and to everyone who attended and made the event special, especially the many Long Angle and The LA Grind members who attended. Enjoy this video recap!
