In the vast red desert at the heart of Australia, @longitude131 sits surrounded by an almost endless expanse of ochre earth, open skies and ancient rock formations.

Here, in one of the most remote landscapes in the world, wellness takes on a very different meaning. There is no traditional hotel gym. Instead, movement happens outside. Days are spent walking through the desert, exploring ancient landscapes on foot or heading further into the outback by bike. The lodge itself has a five-kilometre desert loop, while guided experiences offer the chance to move deeper into the surrounding landscape.

Spa Kinara provides the more traditional wellness element of the stay. Set among the red dunes, treatments draw on native Australian botanicals including Kakadu plum, quandong and desert lime.
But much of the wellbeing proposition here exists beyond the spa. Longitude 131° is built around a deeper connection to the natural and cultural landscape surrounding it. Guided experiences introduce guests to the Aboriginal heritage and stories of the region, while the property’s remote setting means days are spent largely outdoors.

JUST BOOKED | FIJI, SYDNEY AND THE RED CENTRE
Some trips pick one mood and stay there. This one changes entirely, three times.

For our travelers, the journey begins in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, where a fast boat from Denarau Marina delivers them to @tokoriki_island_resort, an adults only retreat on one of the most secluded islands in the group. Five nights unfold here with nothing more urgent than deciding which stretch of beach to claim, with freestanding bures, a crystal clear lagoon swimmable through both tides, and the warm Fijian hospitality this island is quietly famous for doing most of the convincing.

From there, the energy shifts entirely. A flight to Sydney and a Horizon Club stay at @shangrilasydney puts our travelers in the heart of The Rocks, with Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House practically outside the window.
