Meet Matt - black coffee guy, cold brew loyalist, community builder, and firm believer that some of the best parts of life happen with a coffee in hand.

For years, Matt and one of his closest friends would meet for coffee every morning before work. Nothing fancy, just 10 or 20 minutes to talk about the day ahead, what they wanted to get done, and life in general. It became one of those little rituals he genuinely looked forward to.

He’s always been a black coffee guy, especially when it comes to cold brew, but his first light roast pour-over changed the game. That was the moment he realized coffee could be way more interesting than he ever gave it credit for. Turns out, black coffee has range. And honestly, that’s a lot of what he wants Okay* to feel like.

Yes, we want to make really great coffee. But Matt is most excited about everything that happens around it. The conversations, the friendships, the regulars, and building the kind of culture people genuinely want to be part of.

One thing this whole journey has taught him? If you really believe in something, chasing it is pretty freaking rewarding. Getting to build it alongside people you love makes it even better.

This team is family. We’re friends. We genuinely love each other, and we’ve put a little bit of ourselves into every detail of this place.

Meet Ivy — full of sass, class, and one heck of a great mom. Someone who believes a good cup of coffee can make even the most okay morning feel a little more special.

For Ivy, coffee has always been about more than just caffeine. It’s her morning ritual. A little moment carved out just for herself before the rest of the day begins. And as a mom, those little moments matter.

Her love for coffee started young, with a café con leche made by her grandma. She could taste the love, time, and care that went into making it, and she’s been hooked ever since.

What’s Ivy most excited about? The rhythm of a busy morning. Making really good coffee, serving guests, and watching the space come to life. But more than anything, she wants Okay* to become the kind of place she already loves spending her own weekends. A place where you actually look forward to spending your day off. Where you bring your favorite people, settle in with a great cup of coffee, and stay a little longer than you planned.

Because sometimes the best part of your morning isn’t just the coffee. It’s everything that comes with it.

We can’t wait for you to spend your mornings with Ivy.

Happy birthday to my little brother, one of the best barbers I know and an even better guy to have in my corner. Couldn’t imagine doing this whole barbershop thing without little brother.

Apparently if you talk about opening a coffee shop for 10 years, eventually you have to actually open one. And somehow… we’re almost there. Ashley and I have dreamed about, talked about, and worked toward this for more than a decade. So to stand inside this space now and realize that we actually built it is honestly a little overwhelming. And holy cow, building a coffee shop from the ground up is A LOT. There have been tears, sweat, sleepless nights, problem solving all day every day, and spending way too much money only to realize we somehow still need to buy one more thing.

To our family and friends who have basically accepted that we don’t exist outside of Okay* right now, thank you. This place has taken just about every ounce of our time, energy, and brainpower lately, and we couldn’t have gotten here without the people who love us giving us the space to chase this thing.

And to the people we’ve partnered with, and especially to YOU, our community, thank you. Seeing you guys get behind Okay* before we’ve even opened the doors has meant more to us than you probably realize. Every person who grabbed something from the early merch drop or one of our event tiers has helped us push through these final steps and get this crazy 10 year dream across the finish line. We’re almost ready.

There’s some decor left, a handful of little things to finish, and probably at least 6 or 7 things we don’t know about yet. But we are SO close.

We’re launching our Okay* Coffee community crowdfunding page, but we want to be clear about what this really is.

Honestly, it’s mostly a chance to get your hands on some Okay* merch, special events, and offers before we even release it in the shop.

Opening a coffee shop from the ground up is WILDLY expensive and while we’re opening these doors either way, every bit of support helps us finish those last details, takes a little pressure off our pockets, and lets you be part of bringing this place to life.
