$A face fractured into fragments, held together by dots. An exploration of pattern, repetition, and obsession, told through scattered circular forms. Vintage texture, bold color-blocking, a single unbroken gaze at the center holding the whole composition together. One of our earlier pieces — a previous one-off release, never repeated. #streetarttokyo #japanesestreetart #tokyoartscene #contemporaryart #streetart Framed art print on a patterned wall covered in dotted circles, showing a fractured portrait collage made of scattered circular fragments in red, magenta, yellow, and multicolor patterns, with a single centered face rendered in pink and yellow tones. The Super Cool Street Art logo appears in the bottom right corner.$

$Shattering the Baroque. 🏛️✨ I’ve completed the third piece in my Shatter the Frame series: “Artemisia Forever” (2026). As an Art History nerd, I couldn’t create this series without honoring the ultimate icon of defiance and technical mastery: Artemisia Gentileschi. This portrait is a Cubist deconstruction of her famous 1630s self-portrait at the Palazzo Barberini (pictured in slide 3). Artemisia didn’t just paint; she shattered every boundary placed in front of her. She was the first woman in the Florence Academy and a master of the Baroque’s dramatic light and shadow, tenebrism. In this painting, I’ve taken those classic 17th-century angles and fractured them through a modern lens—blending the intensity of the Baroque with the geometry of Cubism. She was a maestra of the canvas then, and she remains an inspiration. Borshch of Art recently gathered its leadership and volunteers for an important event to celebrate outgoing board member Lorie Caval. As one of our three founding board members alongside Anastasia Gudko and Masha Ianovska, Lorie has spent the last two years overseeing all editorial projects and shaping our Fellowship programming. Furthermore, her efforts were instrumental in securing the first-ever grant award for Borshch of Art.
It is hard to count all the occasions and tasks handled by Lorie and the other volunteers who helped Borshch of Art during its formative years. We can assure you it was countless hours of dedicated service that will be long remembered.

It was the first of its kind volunteer appreciation event, and we would like to thank and give a shout-out to other individuals who have shaped the Borshch of Art vision and programming since May 2024:
