Ten years ago today, Sam left this world. Ten years later, we are still grieving him. We still miss him. We still wish we had more time. And yet, when we look back through these photographs and memories, what we feel most deeply is love. So much love. So much joy. So much sweetness. A life that was far too short, but so deeply, beautifully loved. That love is still here. It lives in these memories, in the stories we tell, and in the people Sam continues to bring together.💛

Had a once in a lifetime adventure thanks to an auction item donated to the Sam Day Foundation Soirée. We got to spend a perfect weekend on Orcas Island enjoying dear friends, real conversations, sunshine and time on the water. Flying there on a private plane was so fun! And the money goes to pediatric cancer research! Win-win!

Not every day you get to sit down with three true heroes. Over the last couple days, we had the incredible honor of filming an intimate and deeply raw conversation with @uoregon @coachdanlanning, his wife @sauphialanning, and Lorna Day of the @samdayfoundation . Together, they opened up about the fight against pediatric cancer, the families impacted by it, and the progress they’re working tirelessly to make in pediatric cancer research and support. These are the kinds of stories that remind us why storytelling matters. Grateful for the trust to help share a mission this important. More to come soon.

Wow… what an unforgettable night! 🤍 Our very first Eden Project Art Auction & Fundraiser with the Sam Day Foundation exceeded anything we could have imagined. Because of this incredible community, we have preliminarily raised over $85,000 for childhood cancer research… and we are still counting. We felt so much love in that gallery, old friends, new friends, artists, donors, and supporters all coming together for something so much bigger than ourselves. Childhood cancer is still the #1 cause of death by disease in children in the U.S. And yet, it receives only 4% of federal cancer research funding. 🚨Long Post Alert 🚨 TL;DR: help me fund childhood cancer research! Cancer research funding is getting slashed, but did you know childhood cancers only receive about 4% of those funds? Childhood cancer treatments are also extremely toxic and haven’t been updated in DECADES! I’m running the @samdayfoundation Buddy Run to raise money and awareness for the foundation and childhood cancer research on behalf of my buddy, Ian, who is a senior at Grant High School. He’s been through way too much in his young years and we’re here to support him! Last year, I had the honor of running for my buddy Varun, a 14-year-old shining star with a tremendous outlook on life, and sadly he passed right as school started in September. We can’t let this happen to our children anymore! I’m calling on all of my friends and family to consider donating to this cause to help find less toxic cures for these rare diseases. If you’ve won a free pair of shoes, apparel/swag, race entries, gift cards for ice cream, sushi, tea, pasta, etc., products from local businesses, or used a promo code from my run club, I’d love for you to consider paying it forward with a donation! Of course, anyone can donate any amount, but I want to SMASH this $2,000 goal! I had the most incredible evening at the @samdayfoundation Sam Day Soirée with @maxwilford4 and @drjonahyakel. At the event our friends at SDF announced that they’re officially collaborating with @maxloveproject to take our Fierce Foods Kitchen cookbook to the next level of impact and distribution as a part of their wellness programming. We couldn’t be more proud to partner with this incredible organization! I’ll always lovingly remember the days when we connected with @lornamday as she focused on Sam’s quality of life. I’ll forever hold dear that we had the opportunity to connect at that time and were able to extend the small amount of support we could through @maxloveproject. Lorna and her family did everything possible for Sam, moving mountains to ensure he thrived with cancer. It feels like yesterday when Lorna told us there were no more treatment options for Sam. I remember where I was in that moment, the devastation of the news, and the feeling that I’d give anything to be able to do something to help. Years later the @samdayfoundation is growing and thriving, funding research for the hardest to treat rare childhood cancers — sarcomas and brain tumors especially. In taking on the Fierce Foods Kitchen Cookbook, SDF will expand their wellness programs and offer families something powerfully tangible as they also fund hope through research. It’s an incredible combination of research and care, all under one roof. I’m proud to share that I’ll become a volunteer for the Sam Day Foundation and am so thrilled to help expand the cookbook offering and support SDF’s beautiful work. It’s such an honor to play a small role in expanding Sam’s legacy as we pass the Fierce Foods torch to the amazing SDF team.
