Last night we completed 7 weeks of Roots for Growth.
During those weeks we witnessed the coming together of strangers who got to share their pain as well as their joy. We danced, we played, we created art all while healing together.

And to 16-year-old me? I think he’d be proud.

“It’s Mostafa from Palma. I wanted to personally share something really special with you — we just opened a new Palma store today, and this one is especially emotional for me.
It’s in City Centre Maadi — or as we used to call it, Carrefour Maadi. I was born and raised in Maadi, and spent most of my childhood and teenage years here. This mall was one of the first to open back then, and it became our go-to place for everything.

I used to go there all the time with Dalia (my girlfriend back then, now my wife) and our best friend Salma (who later ditched us for London to chase her dream — we forgive her).
We did all the usual teen stuff: walking around aimlessly, window shopping, sharing food court meals, grabbing Carrefour’s homemade pizza, playing in the arcade, and of course, getting Cinnabon when it was the only branch in Cairo.

So to now have a Palma store in that very same mall feels surreal. To my teenage self, who used to walk those halls dreaming about design and fashion — this is a full-circle moment.

And I’m proud to say, this might be our most beautiful store yet. Huge thanks to our talented friends at @levelsstudio for bringing the space to life with stunning design and handling the entire construction.”
