POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Dead Sound is a symphonic, melancholy work by Irish composer and vocalist Lou McMahon, featuring the renowned Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg orchestra.

The work was recorded at Babelsberg Studios in Potsdam, Germany, in October 2025 as part of the Live Score Berlin initiative by Audiocreatures, and is performed by Lou along with a 50 piece orchestra.

The composition and performance are next level original and creative, and working with Lou was an absolute blast because the piece really pushes many boundaries in the genre.

Thank you Lou for making me a part of this incredible team!

To all my voting friends and colleagues, thank you for your consideration.

Coming August 1st 2026

So glad to share a new collaboration for Dead Sound, featuring the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg. The release will be accompanied by a special music video created by dancer and videographer Paul André Fortin.

Thank you for your time and support.

Multidisciplinary artist Paul André Fortin inhabits the feeling of being alien through the lens of contemporary dance in natural Canadian landscapes, seeking solace and vulnerability away from urban life. Paul interprets the piece, “Dead Sound,” as a mental struggle for peace, searching the natural world amid a time of major change, emotional pain, and an uncertain future.

Experiencing difficult moments in quantum coherence with earth, the music parallels global challenges like climate change, atomic warfare, and political alienation with intense human experiences, particularly limerence, with cinematic orchestral science fiction moods. the artists position geographical location as a critical catalyst for healing.

This interpretation is dedicated to the victims of the vehicle-ramming attack at Berlin’s Christopher Street Day (CSD) Pride celebration in Tiergarten park. To those affected by this tragic act of violence—you belong in our world. R.I.P.

Project Locations: Lake Magog and Rivière des Mille-îles, Canada; and the Atlantic Ocean, Seafield Beach (Quilty, County Clare, Ireland).

This video is produced by Paul André Fortin. Cameraman: Héctor René García.

🎓 GRAMMYU Mentorship Complete 🎓

After 6 months of working alongside Lou McMahon through the GRAMMY U Mentorship Program, I’ve gained valuable knowledge & skills which have helped me grow as a music producer.

One of the highlights of the mentorship was being asked by Lou to create a remix of her prestigious track, Dead Sound, from the Butterfly Wars project, recorded with the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg as part of Live Score Berlin by AudioCreatures.

I’m proud to say that the remix is now available on all streaming platforms.

A huge thank you to Lou McMahon for her guidance, knowledge and support throughout this journey.

📡This Sunday’s ‘Spinning Away’ features an in-depth conversation with SAINT LEONARD. Recent singles ‘Wits End’ and ‘The Red Book’ (in collaboration with Brian Eno) represent a bold departure from his past work, embracing experimental electronica with heavy influences from Berlin’s iconic ‘70s scene, epitomized by Bowie and Eno.

I’ll have the radio premiere of ‘Dead Sound’ by composer Lou McMahon, who is now trading by the name ‘Meaisín’ (Machine). It’s the first, otherworldly track from a new body of work.

Plus, @the_gopniks_official_ with the amazing White Cat Dream will grace the digital airwaves, fresh from the 💿 received in the post 🤝 🇮🇪
