I finally get to share my gold medal performance at @polesportorg 🥇

It’s funny to look at it now, just one month later, because somehow it’s no longer about victory, fear, training, or goals. It’s about identity and liberation. My core desire was to publicly destroy everything I thought I was

I didn’t even realize how much bringing this character to life would change the way I think. It had always been super convenient to be pretty and sexy. But at some point, I got so bored of it. I already knew I was all that, and so what? Is that the game I’m supposed to keep playing? Pretty and sexy?

Bordetella is a force of nature. She broke through the walls of every fear I had, and she just does not give aaaaaaa shiiiiiit. For some reason, I keep remembering how, back in Russia, everyone would always ask me to calm down. Well, I didn’t 🤡

This medal 🥇 will serve as reminder that identity is just an outfit. In the past month alone, I’ve worn at least 10 different ones, and somehow I’ve stopped taking things so seriously. I’m playing, I’m having fun, and I hope y’all are too 💃🏼 🕺 🪩

Thank you @luscious_maven for being a safe space where I could take my skills to a whole new level, surrounded by an incredibly supportive community and amazing teachers

Thank you @louvre_la and @davidlynchmeetsxpole for helping me bring this piece to life, cleaning it up and teaching me how to interact with the audience. I wouldn’t have won without you ♥️

And huge warm thank you to that person in the audience who laughed so sincerely the whole time 🥹 the sound of your beautiful laugh means so much, I can’t even explain 🫶🏻

And of course @gogolbordello I really hope you guys see it

“WHO ARE YOU?” 🐛✨

A simple question. An impossible answer.

How can you explain yourself when you are no longer who you were, yet not quite who you are becoming?

Some transformations require more than change… they require the death of an old identity.

“You’ll get used to it in time.” 🍃😶‍🌫️
