A bakery serving up an exciting variety of sweet & savoury bakes, but we definitely preferred their savoury picks!

🥐 Shio Pans — Crispy, buttery bases that we absolutely loved. If you love a good buttery crunch, hurry down now!🏃🏻‍♀️💨

🍤 Ebi-Chan — One of my favourites! Generous prawns with guacamole & pico de gallo, paired with their super good shio pan. SO GOOD!

🌙 Unagi Moon — Rich, savoury, and that lovely char aroma really brought the unagi bowl vibes 🤤 Another one of my fav!

🧀 Charcuterie Board — Loved the concept and how the savoury prosciutto & brie complemented the sweet fig & maple, though it was a tad too sweet for my liking.

🍡 Mentai Mochi Shio Pan — Good balance of the mentai, not jelat at all. Buttery, soft bread with a crispy base, while the mochi added a nice chewy texture.

🥭 Mango Mochi — Sweet, tangy mangoes paired with a fluffy donut & soft, chewy mochi skin. A lovely combination of textures!

🍋 Kombu-Chan — A savoury madeleine filled with lime, kombu & cream cheese for a rich umami finish. An interesting flavour combo!

Queues move pretty fast despite the queue being vry long & this spot definitely deserves the hype! Have visited twice and would still head back to try more of their bakes 🫶🏻

You may remember Genevieve Lee as the runner-up of the inaugural MasterChef Singapore in 2018. She was also behind the viral Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery and Shio & Sato - both of which have shut.

Now, she is the consultant of Cloudmills bakery, which opened on Aug 25 in Claymore Drive. She describes @lovecloudmills as an “experiential Japanese bakery concept”, with sweet-savoury salt bread, donut and madeleine combinations that diners would not commonly find elsewhere.

just happened to be on this area so decided to give this a try, honestly didn’t have much expectations but this was really good! was surprised to see that they were still restocking the bakes at about 12pm ish

We saw the mango mochi v2 ($6) and it immediately caught our eyes decided we wanted to have a proper lunch so we initially got one but after trying it we couldn’t resist and decided to get the tokyo banana crumble ($6) and it was amazing the flavours worked so well together wasn’t overly sweet! the donuts were both still so crispy and fluffy will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu! ⋆. 𐙚 ˚❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:･

just happened to be in the area and decided to drop by and was shocked that they were still restocking donuts at about 12pm!! didn’t expect much but wow the donuts were really good it was still crispy and super fluffy and the flavours were just amazing!! we had the mango mochi v2 ($6) and the tokyo banana crumble ($6) both were so good!! we even just decided to buy one initially but couldn’t resist after having our first one so we went back for another, will definitely be back to try the other stuff on their menu!! ⋆. 𐙚 ˚❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:･

Queued for carbs 😬 pretty good bakes we must say! Big juicy prawns + guac, tangy and sweet mango, caramelised banana, and classic chocolate bring us joy. Not too sure about the strawberry dark cap drink though, i thought it was a tad too sour oop

🇸🇬 AO Restaurant, Orchard

A contemporary Japanese forward restaurant with a global spin, AO Restaurant excel at sharing dishes over casual conversations.

Backed by Culinary Director Chef Takeshi Araki, formerly of now-defunct 1-Michelin Esora, you can expect familiar Japanese dishes done in a modern style, with new techniques and bold but balanced flavour pairings.

Here are what I had

🐟 Bluefin Tuna Tartare & Toasted Sushi Rice ($28), tuna tartare with smoky bincho oil and caviar, served on hot fried sushi rice.

🍗 Grilled Chicken Wings with Black Truffle Mochi Rice ($22), crispy wings stuffed with truffle mochi rice, finished with a punchy red vinegar-garlic sauce.

🥩 Sukiyaki Wagyu Maki Roll ($28), torched wagyu maki with egg yolk sauce, fried garlic and ponzu horseradish.

🍜 “Sakura-dai” Sea Bream Ramen ($28), super delicious sea bream broth with swordfish chashu, yuzu bubbles and crispy sakura ebi.

🧀 Burnt Bleu Cheesecake with Wildflower Honey ($20), rich ly pungent blue-cheese Basque cheesecake, balanced by plum and honey.

🍨 Tofu Ice Cream – Three Ways ($16), dairy-free soy ice cream with Japanese Mochi and Mango cuttings.

Come visit @ao.restaurant, you'll leave impressed.

Sampai bakery ini banyak yang sudah sold out. Tapi untung masih ada pilihan sih. Pilih 3 menu pastry : Hachi lemon, Mentai mochi dan Charcuterie Board 😘.

Cuaca mendung...pilih duduk di outdoor sambil menikmati angin sepoi-sepoi dan segelas "Yuan Yang" <Cold brew coffee, jasmine tea with white chocolate coconut ganache and Orange zest>. Nice 🥰.
