The Creative Heart Retreat —

It’s been over a month since we gathered off the coast of Portugal for the creative heart. It’s taken time for the words to come, to describe some of what this week was.

To me, there is a deep mystery at the heart of creativity. Our art: sung, shared, expressed, spoken, imagined or written is an unending discovery. Our creative expression being one of the beautiful ways that our intimacy with life can reach the world.

The way that we each chose to commune with our creativity this week in our selves and in eachother was deeply enriching. Leaning into our own hearts as the source of our ideas, inspiration and expression.

When we let our hearts be our guide, we can no longer plan, rehearse, contrive or predict what is going to come out of us. The truth of our hearts will undermine what we think we know about who we are or what we are doing. And as mad as this sounds, it is exactly what being truly creative actually means. Each moment, new and self-arising. Unpredictable, untamed, natural and honest. A state of play in a field of the unknown.

I feel honoured and simultaneously sad to be apart of empowering the creative unknown. I feel my sadness is a bridge that acknowledges collectively how far we have come from our creative nature. This returning is where my soul is at rest. I’ll treasure this week of magic, risk, honesty, feeling and creativity for a long time.

And a personal thank you to @belacrowder for choosing this with me. Who you are inspires me beyond mountains. I love you and I’m really proud of us.

More opportunities to work together coming soon 👀💫

This Tuesday evening I’m excited to invite you to our online showing ‘Stand-Up Love’. An ode to the unmatchable power of the creative unknown.

Expect a completely improvised evening of entering into a field of creative possibility, where anything could happen. Held by the great mystery of trusting our human experience, and 7 people daring greatly to stay long enough to see what unfolds.

As artists, it’s important we have spaces where we are free to express ourselves. And to be exposed to an unfathomable level of acceptance. I’m an advocate for the vulnerable, messy, wrong, dangerous and shamed parts of ourselves being given an opportunity to be expressed.

Musicians get to improvise, dancers get to jam, athletes get to play. But where is the space for actors, or live performance creatives to improvise from our real-time truth?

Embodied Creativity is this. People meeting where in themselves they conform, hide, reject or abandon themselves in order to “belong”. And choosing, inside a creative moment, something different. To be brave, more honest, more real and less performed or contrived.

The Creative Act has always provided me that space. 100% permission to be anything I want to be. It excites my bones to be offering this space. Art, has shown me what is possible, and what I can be. It wields the power to change perspective and undo limiting beliefs. It has shown be beauty, and broken my heart, and opened me to the realm of all possibility.

Please join us online at 7:30pm AEST, and witness what happens when a group of people come together from their hearts, to shape the culture they wish to live in. I can’t promise you anything will happen, but I can promise you that anything could.

Started with one guitar… ended in a full 30 or so person jam. Actual footage from one of the best moments of my new year. This is what we do when we let go into play. Watch every slide from this celebration of pure joy jam. Thank you to everyone who joined me here in this wild cacophony of nature 🤪❤️❤️‍🔥

The theatre is a sanctuary where we can get away with what we would have been burnt at the stake for 🏴‍☠️

Was a privilege to sing Caledonia during the cabaret of Scott & Anda's wedding this Summer, and to accompany Gio's rendition of Godspeed by James Blake.

Thank you, Scanda, for entrusting me and @davidmunnmusic with the ceremony music, too.

"Let me tell you that I love you,
That I think about you all the time
Caledonia, you're calling me
Now I'm going home

But if I should become a stranger
You know it would make me more than sad
Caleodonia's been everything I ever had"

Namaste,
Welcome to our Hatha Yoga online course! This course is designed to help you unlock the full potential of your body through mindful breath and movement. Understanding that the palms and feet act as a remote controls for the upper and lower body, we’ll focus on techniques to release and engage your diaphragm, and master Mulabandh for both passive and active breath control.

Our journey begins with learning to breathe long, deep, and gently. We’ll explore various movements originating from your ribs, lower pelvis, pelvic floor, and stomach. Once these areas are unlocked, you’ll notice your breath becoming more expansive and gentle. This will lead to increased freedom in your hips, improved digestion, sexual health, elevated energy levels, and emotional stability.

Energy exchange 5$ per session.
