💩 STEP INTO IT 💩 Okay, maybe not directly into the poo - if you can help it - but we know going through some unknowns, even the undesirable and unwanteds, are whatbuild strength and resilience. So why keep putting off the course or the therapy or adopting that sweet puppy that needs a home?
—-
I woke up feeling strong enough to read all the sweet messages from the post announcing Buster Brown’s crossing the 🌈 🌉 (image with hand on heart, arms holding him close) and I found myself in a lump lingering in bed in tears. I didn’t even get through them all and I decided that was enough for today. I miss my loyal companion, my sidekick who I’m convinced literally gave me life some days, unconditional love daily.
—-
Matt noticed I was sending out thank you messages to everyone who responded (thank you again) and came upstairs to make sure I was okay. He knows me so well. ❤️
—-
And while our hearts ache because we’re grieving, missing all of the characteristics he has that brought humor and love and routine into our days, Matt and I worry about Chili.
—-
She hasn’t known a single day without Bubs, until now. She’s such a loving, sweet girl. She barked louder when he was here being rowdy for walkers by. She vibes off of Bubs way more than we realized. Until now.
—-
So what to do when you’re feeling scared to open your heart and love again?
—-
You do what your daughter needs - and what your heart needs.
—-
And you begin again.
—-
Don’t know when. Don’t know who.
—-
We’re getting a new puppy!
—-
We can feel sad about days without Bubs AND joyful about giving Chili a little brother.
—-
Big shout out to my#bothand family who understands the layers and complexity and welcomes the spectrum of feelings in the moment. Always learning... And it’s so much more fun together!

„Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act , just once , with beauty and courage .
Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence , something helpless that wants our love „
.
-Rainer Maria Rilke , Letters to a young Poet

Thank you @kellyclancy7 for sharing and bringing the attention back to Rilke poetry

AWAKEN YOUR DREAMS Have you ever imagined your current real life experience is actually a dream? It’s a creative way to practice present moment awareness. I do it often. I bet if you tried, you’d gain some type of newfound perspective about what is happening in your life. For instance, why are you where you are? Who joins you in your endeavors? How do you view the company you keep? Or how does it receive you? The BOTH/AND culture asks us to be there for it all. This includes the moments we are awake and those when we’re sleeping. 💤 Our subconscious is present for both, so why not explore playful wonder? This is a concept that weaves into the fabric of thrivership because it allows us to appreciate our whole life experience. It often invites an element of surprise and childlike curiosity, which are important parts of getting through the rocky times and landing back on solid ground. Interesting. When we go below the surface, we enter a vulnerable place where we don’t know what will pop to the surface from this unique type of inquiry. 🤔.
⭐️ When you live the BOTH/AND culture, you continue to allow space for times of release and times of building. .
⭐️ With this understanding, you reach new heights.
⭐️ You open ourselves to new ideas, ways to heal and be healed. .
@bonafideproductions , @sygdesigns , @alj.skintuitivebeauty , @tensegritymedicinecharleston , @charlestonherbalista , @schroeder_daniela are walking examples of their BOTH/AND talk.
🎤 Now please join me as I introduce another bright star in the BOTH/AND community! .
☯️ This is Elizabeth Ann, who likes to be called Liz. She is a light child of god, first a mom, partner, friend, daughter, sister, and healer. She feels more like herself when hiking in the #Redwoods, connecting with a friend, or sharing her passion about the mind, body, soul connection. Right now she is thriving through the process of clearing seeing and owning all parts of herself: the perfectionist, the go-until-you-drop tendency, the push aheadedness, AND the lover, creator, observer. .
When you look at Liz, what do you see?

WELCOME THE WISDOM *sneak peek* Over the years I’ve recommended doctors and therapists, energy and body workers more times than I can count. And I *LOVE* that people come to me as an authority on health. It’s been in my DNA since I can remember.... The yearning to know more about the parts of us that lie below the surface, to disentangle the complexities I noticed with behaviors and moods, the longing to understand the unwillingness to be honest or simply candid I sensed as a very young child. I’ve never understood the “better than” mentality and certainly not the “less than” mindset yet when I’ve been completely open to see what lurks beneath my flesh I see that I have fallen into the very trap I can look at and quickly see why it doesn’t make sense and how much unnecessary pain it can cause (and has!). I’m telling you this because I love living authentically. And I want you to embrace the deeper parts of yourself, the ones that cause heartache. Because those are the very things you can heal once you shine light into that darkness. We hold BOTH AND.... For fun, scroll to see a spontaneous project that’s emerged with a group of humans who get what it takes to see the void, dive in, and break free. 🕊.

START KNOWING NOTHING Maybe better said, eff the know-it-alls. (⚠️tiny rant ahead) Damn if there aren’t times when the mind will try to know it all, be it all, claim it all, understand it all... All the alls! Someone speaks and the response is “yeah, I know.” Someone shares a concern and the feedback is “well, here’s what you need to blah, blah, blah.” Excuse me but how the hell does anyone know what someone else needs with such certainty? As a counselor, therapist, trauma release facilitator, asking questions is paramount in recalling, resetting, and recovery. Any reputable clinical or holistic mental health practitioner can attest to that. 💯 There aren’t many things I see as constant in life except if anyone, anyone believes they know all the methods, all the options, all the takeaways, all the outcomes, run! Fast! There’s no need in spending time believing a pretender. If you smell poser, you’re probably right on the money. There’s no need in taking on the weight of someone else’s gigantic ego. Stay compassionate, sure. Even and especially if you have to dig down to find that compassionate bone. There’s a growth spurt in there waiting for you to receive it. Most importantly recognize the smell of BS when it starts coming out of the hole, so you don’t wind up being blind-sided by a steamy bag of poo perspective when least expected. 🤭 Had to post a serene photo for what might seem to be an uncharacteristically sassy post, and the point I want to convey is that YOUR EXPERIENCE IS PRECIOUS AND EVERY GREAT TEACHER/MENTOR/MODEL OF LOVE AND PEACE LIVES ASKING QUESTIONS AND NOT FEIGNING TO KNOW WITH CERTAINTY EVEN THE SIMPLEST CONCEPT TO BE TRUE. 😛 Deep breath in. Deep sleep tonight. Love you, mean it. .
