POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My whole coping strategy is a plan… and today ruined it.

I don’t do well with change. When I know how my day is going to go, I can handle it. When it suddenly goes in a different direction, my brain shuts down.

What helps me most is making a plan and sticking to it as closely as I can. Today that plan fell apart. I got overwhelmed and dysregulated, and I couldn’t pivot.

So I’m doing what I can: riding the wave, giving myself grace, and trying to get back to as peaceful a day as possible. I’m also sharing this so you know you’re not the only one. 🤍

👇 How do you handle it when your day goes completely off script? I’d really love your ideas. I’m still figuring this out.

*Great music by Isaac Haines. Check him out. 🤩

How conditioned we have become to view everything as either a success or a failure. And how the value systems of others are constantly imposed upon people who may not necessarily want them.
Just imagine simply doing exactly what you want with your life - that is success ☘️

This project is much deeper than I have ever truly explained. And maybe that is because some things are difficult to put into words when you are finally forced to sit with the person you have been, the things you have done, and the people who had to experience those versions of you. I made this for the people I hurt. The people I lied to. The people I wronged. The people who believed in me, only to watch me become someone they no longer recognized. I made this for the ones who had to forcibly stop loving me, not because their love disappeared, but because my actions left them with no choice but to choose themselves.

This is the result of all of those times. Every mistake. Every broken promise. Every truth I avoided. Every version of myself I became while knowing, deep down, that I was capable of being better. This is not me asking anyone to forget what happened. It is not me pretending that creating something meaningful erases the hurt I have caused. It is me finally allowing myself to confront what I spent so much time running from. And if there is one thing I hope this project communicates, it is that I am not blind to the damage I have done. I carry the weight of knowing that some people had to heal from things I put them through, and that some relationships may never be what they once were.

I cannot rewrite those chapters. I cannot undo the hurt. All I can do is be honest about the person I was, take responsibility for the person I am, and keep doing the work to become someone who no longer leaves that kind of pain behind.

This is Every Try Is Me. And every part of it is a reminder that trying to become better means very little if I am not willing to face who I have been.

From the very start I've always wanted to create a truly special experience for when you unbox your artwork.

And so I create a ritual and experience in the boxing; in the hope that this transcends to you in your home.

Your artwork means so much to me, and so does the way it arrives. If I don't arrive in person, rest assured I will send my love in handmade considered packaging.

This short film is complimented by the music of the exceptionally talented @lsaachaines 🤎 🤍
