During our alumni reception, we honored Thomas Phillips, Department Chair and Professor in the Department of Accounting, and Laura Wiley, Associate Department Chair and Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of Accounting, for their outstanding contributions. Ron Gitz, representing the Society of Louisiana CPAs, presented both honorees with lifetime member awards. The event opened with remarks from three Beta Alpha Psi presidents, Sydney Melder, Avery Aucoin, and Ava Burnum, who spoke about the lasting impact Laura and Thomas have had on LSU and its students. We are grateful for all they have done to support and inspire the LSU community, and they will truly be missed. We also thank all of the alumni, BAP members, and faculty who attended and helped make the event such a success.

Last night, we celebrated our Spring 2026 initiation at Red Stick Social! We were proud to welcome our newest members into Beta Alpha Psi and are excited to watch each of you grow and thrive within our chapter. We also had the opportunity to recognize some truly outstanding individuals. Joseph Perez was named Outstanding Member for the second semester in a row, leading in service hours. This is an incredible accomplishment and a well deserved recognition of his dedication and hard work. Victoria Hernandez and Madison Royer were honored as our Most Outstanding Candidates. Their consistent attendance and commitment all semester long have not gone unnoticed, and we are so excited to officially welcome them into the chapter. Our Most Outstanding Officer award went to Ava Burnum. Her leadership, organization, and behind the scenes efforts make a lasting impact on everything we do. Thank you for your dedication and for serving as an exceptional president. This recognition is well deserved. After initiation, we joined Deloitte for their crawfish boil, which was a great way to celebrate. It was an evening full of good food, refreshments, and fun, and we are grateful to Deloitte for hosting such a great event. We are incredibly proud of our members, candidates, and officers this semester. Your time, effort, and commitment are what make this chapter so special. We cannot wait to see what is ahead. See you next semester!
