A conversation about Luca being age turns into compliments, questionable signals, mixed Lebanese-Italian roots, and a generational throwback 😂

I hold back online.
Not because I have nothing to say, but because of who might read it.
.
@luca.allam didn’t tell me where to stop and where to let it show.
He told me I’d know.
.
Yes, "You'll know"- That was his answer to my question "I draft, craft and scraft everything myself, but I still use AI to polish it. How do I know my posts are really me?"
He said: read your last 10 posts and ask, “Is this me?” You’ll know.
.
Ahhh...Now I have to read my own writing.
He gave me a small nod and a smile. “You’ll know.”
.
I did.
The posts sounded like me, but some of the truest parts had been polished away.
I told him I couldn’t share everything: I might be judged, or I might get a call from home asking me to take it down.
.
He said authenticity lives in your individuality.
Write from there, and you’ll know where to stop and where to let it show.
That was a different definition of authenticity than I’d had.
.
I’d thought it meant sharing more.
He was saying it means sharing what’s yours.
.
Weeks later, I was interviewing Luca myself with perfectly drafted cue cards.
I looked up and said, “Luca, I want to ask you something that’s not on the cards.”
And it became one of the best fireside chats we’ve ever hosted.
.
I always measure what our Insider members take home from a conversation like this.
That day, I could see it in the room - they got it.
.
I’m still learning where to stop and where to let it show.
But I now know what Luca was pointing at.
.
And I’m proud we can give @women_choice_org Insider members this kind of access: a seat opposite someone who gives as generously as he does.

What happens when you get everything you thought you wanted - and realise it no longer feels like you?

@Luca.Allam knows that feeling.

In the latest episode of @IndependentExecutive, Luca talks to me about leaving his career as a regional CEO, letting go of the identity and validation that came with it, and building the next chapter that gave him much more freedom to be himself.

It’s a conversation about success, reinvention and what happens when the career you worked hard to build no longer quite fits the person you’ve become.
