We were honored to help bring over 40 artist to 35 new murals and hundreds of volunteer hours to life this past week @yonderwalls. If we were humbled by Decks & Cans we were truly blown away by the Mural Festival

It was the convergence of our city’s creative powerhouses, emerging artist, and new friends from over yonder. I think we made Birmingham proud 🧡

Day 5 at @yonderwalls WoW! This place is looking amazing y’all! We have one more full day tomorrow, it’s getting tight! But all the artists took time to share a dinner tonight to celebrate this art community coming together and making beauty happen in our city! We can only thank the festival’s magical organizers for that! ❤️

🪩 Saturday is the final celebration, but you can already visit tomorrow to see the artists hard at work, and maybe even a bit less sweaty!

Meet 2026 muralist, Lucas Aoki! Lucas (b. Córdoba, Argentina) is an Austin-based artist whose practice spans large-scale murals, contemporary sculpture, and kinetic art. Originally trained in Multimedia Design in Córdoba, he began painting shortly after moving to Austin in 2010. Driven by self-directed research and experimentation, his work explores the spatial dynamics of public settings and the immersive potential of scale.
His public work includes private and corporate commissions for clients such as Microsoft and Meta, alongside participating in international mural festivals including the South Salt Lake Mural Fest, Jacksonville Mural Fest and Corpus Christi Mural Fest.
Expanding beyond two-dimensional surfaces, Lucas extends his visual language into three dimensions. Working with wood, polymer clay, and dynamic mechanisms, his recent sculptures and kinetic pieces investigate form, movement, and spatial interaction.

What better way to honor a day recognized in Austin than by pouring that love right back into the community!

This year for my day in Austin (September 5th), I decided to collected school supplies and donations for @ciscentraltx to help kids across Central Texas start the new school year with the tools they need to succeed. With the help of @ilivehereigivehere , @contigo_wellness and some others in the community! I was able to make a wonderful donation to a local nonprofit supporting students and families in our community. Such a beautiful space as well with many different artist murals inside. Make sure to support everyone involved and continue to donate!

Special Thanks Everyone Who Donated :

The Middleman has never been about being the person at the top. It’s always been about connecting people, opening doors, and doing the work when nobody is watching!
