Today we are one step closer to protecting 3,000 people's housing! Mayor Johnson announced that the necessary funds to protect permanent housing and supportive services will be included in his proposed budget. Now, in the coming weeks we have to ensure that these urgent housing priorities remain in the final budget package city council passes later this year. As the formal city budget process begins, take a minute and reach out to your alderperson - uniqo.de/kch-action (link in bio) - to make sure they know how important protecting affordable housing is to the community they represent.

We need the following housing programs to remain a priority for city council!

🏠Permanent Supportive Housing
🏠Chicago Low Income Housing Trust Fund
🏠The Flexible Housing Pool

Thousands of Chicagoans are still in need of permanent housing and services. We remain committed to fighting for the protection and expansion of affordable housing programs.

Learn more at chicagohomeless.org/kch A graphic with the message "Prevent 3,000 Chicagoans from losing their homes" in large text. It features an image of a set of keys. At the bottom, there is text that says "Keep Chicago Housed" and provides a website: chicagohomeless.org/KCH.

🔑🏡 Welcome home, Roy!

12 years ago, Roy came to LUCHA hoping to buy his first condo in Bronzeville. This year, he came back to do it all over again, and we couldn’t be happier to hand him the keys (well, to watch him pick them up!). With the help of our homebuyer counseling team and the Chicago HomeGrown program, Roy is back in the neighborhood he loves, living in a place that’s truly his own.

Roy says it best: “That only happens when you have good people by you.” We’re so grateful to be part of his journey, twice!

We’re meeting tenants where they are at Encuentro Square! 💚 Our team is connecting residents with resources that can help lower utility costs, improve energy efficiency, and make their homes safer and more comfortable — while also sharing workforce development opportunities and handing out solar lamps. ☀️

We’re proud to bring these resources directly into the community and help our neighbors access programs that can make a real difference for their households.
