LUCHA advances housing as a human right through advocacy, education, and affordable housing development. Building brighter futures with @assochouse.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🏘️ Logan Square’s history shows what’s possible when communities come together to fight for housing justice.

We recently welcomed our partners at Association House of Chicago for a walking tour highlighting the people, places, and organizing that have shaped our neighborhood. From the mural we sponsored at Dill Pickle Food Co-op to the Lucy Gonzalez Parsons Apartments at the Logan Square Blue Line, each stop told a story of community advocacy in action.

As a founding member of Elevated Chicago, LUCHA helped advance the vision for affordable housing near transit through the Elevated Chicago Blue Line Table. That advocacy helped transform parking lots into homes at a time of crisis—and we continue this work today as Co-Chairs of Elevated Chicago’s Systems Change Working Group.

We’re proud of the collective action that has shaped Logan Square and grateful to keep building a future where everyone has a place to call home. 💚 by @luchachicago

Fresh coats of paint, a new kids’ play area, and revitalized landscaping!🎨

Our friends at McDonald’s Corporation spent a day at our Borinquen Bella property rolling up their sleeves and putting their time and talents toward making our spaces brighter, more welcoming, and more reflective of the community we serve.

Their impact went far beyond a day of beautification. We’re so grateful for the care, creativity, and community spirit they brought with them! ❤️

Take a look at some of the highlights from their day—and read the full story on our blog at the link in the bio! by @luchachicago

We’re meeting tenants where they are at Encuentro Square! 💚 Our team is connecting residents with resources that can help lower utility costs, improve energy efficiency, and make their homes safer and more comfortable — while also sharing workforce development opportunities and handing out solar lamps. ☀️

We’re proud to bring these resources directly into the community and help our neighbors access programs that can make a real difference for their households. by @luchachicago

We're so proud! 🥲🚂 LUCHA's own Christian Díaz is the first-ever openly queer member of the @metrarail Board! This is a huge milestone for securing the needs of marginalized communities in our city. Go Christian!!!

Here's what he told the @windycitytimes: “It wasn’t that long ago that an appointment like this for an LGBTQ+ person was unthinkable, and public roles in public service were unthinkable. I stand on the shoulders of giants who came before us. My ideal future is a more equitable and accessible transit system for all people."

Maria has spent the last 24 years witnessing firsthand what an affordable home with LUCHA can do-- and before that, she lived in affordable housing in Humboldt Park herself. Initiatives like Hope For Homes Day ensures that this work can carry on for another generation. 💝

💬 Maria told us: "I know firsthand how much it means to have a safe, stable place to call home and the difference it can make in someone's life. I've seen how the support helps people move forward, reach their goals, and create a better life for them and their families."

Will you join us and help to create fair housing for all in Chicago? Join in Hope for Homes day and make a gift at the link in our bio. 💙 by @luchachicago
