Here’s a scenario where I attempt to invert underneath my opponent’s base for a back/leg entry, but my partner reacts by sitting to his hip and stuffing the entry.

My reaction is to immediately reverse direction, come up on the leg, and transition from a single to a double-leg takedown.

As you can see, the takedown finishes outside the perimeter, but the ref allows the action to continue because we’re still in motion.

This is one of the main reasons I prefer the ADCC ruleset over others. My opponent can’t simply play the boundary by circling toward the edge and using the out-of-bounds line to prevent me from finishing the takedown and scoring points.

The boundary becomes part of the exchange, not an escape from it.

Got it done in my advanced masters division today

But what i am really most proud of is how well the students at @lucidgrappling did today with there first ever competition. We had three of our guys jump in last minute and put on some solid performances

These ADCC opens are always a great experience, looking forward to the next one and the new challenges ahead

I’m so grateful to Professor @tyronegarcia.ll for opening up his gym and giving us the opportunity to create a space where women can come together, learn from one another, build friendships, and support each other on and off the mats.

To every woman who has shown up, trusted me to share my jiu-jitsu with you, and allowed me to be a small part of your journey — THANK YOU!!! It means so much to be able to share what I’ve learned through my own experiences competing and training, and to see this community continue to grow. Thank you for being part of something that means so much to me 🥹

My goal is to continue to grow this group of ladies, creating an environment where we can challenge each other & learn together. I’m excited to see how much further we can take this and look forward to many more years of learning, growing, and building this community together. 🤜🤛 To many more ! 🖤

Let’s make open mats great again

As always we will continue to host out free open training sessions every Sunday beginning with our 9:00am women’s only workshop, followed by competition training at 11:00am. Regular open mat will start once the competition rounds are over. See you there 🫡
