There was a rainbow at sunrise, I’m just saying …
This is @daisyjosephine_models Tahoe native, trampoline coach and your next campaign model.

One of the principles of being a buffalo ranger is the concept of sharing in lessons from the hunt.
Today that might contradict with a professional photographer concept of we don’t make mistakes and if we do we delete them and deny any involvement with photos that suck.
I am tempted to also puff up my chest and proclaim success with what time light and distance provided me this morning.
However in order to grow and to accept our true nature … reality must be confronted.
There were two objectives at the onset of this exercise.
“The dichotomy”
Balancing to confusion the subject and supporting character, a compression of the balloon/s flying behind an identifiable architectural facade , especially with the sunrise angle!
The result… the balloon’s rose and the wind shifted them beyond view at the angle I had scouted and had to find different buildings. But that wasn’t the issue, i grossly miscalculated the amount of compression that could be accomplished on a 200mm lens. This was clearly a job for a 500mm bit of glass and different shooting location.

Now the easier one “the reno arch and ballons”
Nope,.. next time I need to check the weather, and compare wind speeds and direction along with locations of ballon’s each day. Now that sounds obvious, they are hot air balloons after all… but I didn’t do that.
These are lessons from the hunt today, what parts of the plan worked out and what didn’t , and sharing that knowledge.
On to the positive self talk..
I didn’t share the best photos with y’all.
Perhaps someone with a good eye and great taste would prefer getting the option to tell their story with them.
..
Do you like architecture and culture?

Baby steps
Working with @krystalwithak.art on her model posing class was an absolute joy and good kindle to spark the creative movement. A class varying in experience age and personalities they model students were just the best to work with. They took direction well, came dressed for the part but brought it when the studio strobes started firing. The Reno Tahoe area models brought attitude, spice, shyness, fire and smoke… I congratulate all the models for being brave enough to play .. especially with an entire class watching your performance 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

I’ve been dreaming about the project @msjadesaid and Lucian brought to life! We share the same dream and find our selves with a similar vision walking parallel and intersecting paths. Being around black folks just excited and at home in the woods and wild as I am was absolutely thrilling. For two days the stress of masking was gone, hope for the future bubbled up again. I could see again the beauty of the world, I felt the good, the God, the universe and the ancestors telling me this is the way.
There was a vision … a fantasy that has turned into a dream of helping more folks discover what is happening at 40 acres Conservation League, growing community, crops and commerce. Being the guide to the embodiment of ancestral wisdom through Buffalo rangers. There is so much action taking place I can’t wait to tour and host yall!
