Huge thanks @brightonhovecc PSHE leads Caroline Kemp-Harris and Sarah Jackson for inviting me and fellow children’s picture book author @h.j.peckham (we’re both with @award.books) to speak about our books at a teachers’ networking event at @brighton_museums. Had some great conversions, signed a few copies, and already getting a few ‘Leon’s Reef’ storytime bookings for Anti-Bullying Week in Nov 💛 #leonsreef #antibullying #kindness #empathy

Thank you for the glowing testimonial Lucy, @lucyblack_official @brightcausepr who I had the absolute delight of working with earlier this year 😀

Looking stunning as always wearing the gorgeous sportswear @kerloraofficial

I absolutely loved delivering and wrapping the fabric goodie bags for the documentary at Battersea Power Station, which raised funds for anti-bullying with @coramkidscape

It also meant I got to watch the premiere and meet so many amazing humans too ❤️ including

Imagine if I’d let fear make all my decisions…

I would have missed ALL of this.🥹

3 years. Countless stages. Incredible retreats. Hundreds of beautiful souls, hugs, tears, laughter, breakthroughs and memories I’ll cherish forever.

And to think it all started with a vision, a little courage and a LOT of crazy ideas (some crazier than others).

The biggest transformation wasn’t what I achieved.

It was who I became along the way.

So here’s to saying YES, taking risks, following your intuition and creating a life that makes you feel ridiculously ALIVE.

And to every beautiful human who’s been part of this journey… THANK YOU.❤️

P.S. Imagine where you could be 3 years from now if you dared to go for it?

From Kilimanjaro to the red carpet! 🏔️✨

Earlier this week, we were proud to attend The Roof of Africa documentary premiere at @batterseapwrstn , celebrating an incredible challenge in support of @coramkidscape 💜

The film follows an incredible Kilimanjaro challenge undertaken in support of Coram Kidscape, helping to raise vital funds and awareness for their work supporting children and families affected by bullying.

Together, the climbers raised an amazing £120,000 for the charity, with Wybone proud to have sponsored the challenge.

The evening also brought another incredible celebration, with a Guinness World Record revealed for the Sea to Summit challenge! 🌍🏆

A fantastic night celebrating some extraordinary achievements for an important cause. Congratulations to everyone involved! 👏

£126,500.

That’s a fairly extraordinary number.

£120,000 raised by a group of climbers who took on Kilimanjaro.

And another £6,500 raised on Monday night, by a room full of people who came together at Battersea Power Station for the premiere of The Roof of Africa: Bullied – The Mountain We Face.

All in support of Coram Kidscape.

I posted briefly about the film earlier this week, but having seen some of the photographs from the night, I wanted to come back to the person who made so much of this happen.

Lucy Black.

Lucy is the driving force behind @brightcausepr and @brightiampodcast, and somehow managed to turn an idea, a mountain, a phenomenal cause and a group of climbers into a film and a rather magical evening we were lucky enough to be part of on Monday.

There was a proper premiere.

There were stories from the mountain.

There was an auction, a raffle and some extraordinarily generous people in the room.

There was a lot of laughter.

And somewhere in amongst it all, another £6,500 was raised for a cause that means the world to so many.

What struck me most, though, was just how much work must have happened before any of us put on a dinner jacket or walked onto that red carpet.

These things don’t just happen.

Someone has the idea.

Then they persuade people to believe in it.

They find the climbers, partners and supporters. They solve the problems nobody else sees. They keep the whole bloody thing moving when it would probably be considerably easier to stop.

And eventually everyone turns up and says, “What an amazing evening.”

Lucy, it really was.

You should be enormously proud of what you and everyone involved created.

Thank you for letting me be a tiny part of it.

And for photographic evidence that, despite spending a surprising amount of my life in front of audiences, I still have absolutely no idea what to do with my hands on a red carpet. 😂

£126,500 and counting.

Not a bad outcome from deciding to climb a mountain.
