Sweet Labour Art Practices joins the Sensing Bodies team from Canada. 🍁 O coletivo Sweet Labour Art Practices, do Canadá, junta-se à equipe do Sensing Bodies. @ruthdouthwright & @kevinisdancing invite us to explore the spaces where dance, storytelling, and ecology become entangled. 🕸️ @ruthdouthwright e @kevinisdancing nos convidam a explorar os espaços onde a dança, a narrativa e a ecologia se entrelaçam. This practice weaves together social dances, guided improvisation, and eco-somatic practices. 🌱 Essa prática entrelaça danças sociais, improvisação guiada e práticas ecossomáticas. We create a rich space for listening and moving with others. 👂🏽 Criamos um espaço enriquecedor para ouvir e interagir com os outros. Fascia , sensorium, perception, attention, time, material, story, parts-to-whole, movement, impulse, waiting. @kevinisdancing and @ruthdouthwright bring many years of collaboration to our event in Gamboa, Brazil. They have paired up with visual artists, dancers, musicians, textile artists, filmmakers, doctors, and healers in their work in Canada. We are so lucky to have their unique vision here when we gather for our 10 day event. Last event, they collaborated with the extremely knowledgeable @annette.keis to create this collective mural making experience with natural dyes and cotton fabric. The process continued throughout the entire event, with pauses, reflection, attention, and felt experience inspiring each step. Stay tuned for info about the next event! 📸 @followfoco

@sweetlabourartcollective explores attention, presence, body memory, and ways of being and doing together through sensory and material art processes. At Sensing Bodies, @ruthdouthwright , @kevinisdancing , and @mtnsumrs continue a project that began in Canada in collaboration with visual artist @questionablestitching . Here in Gamboa we had the great opportunity to work with and learn from @annette.keis . She guided us in making natural dyes from local materials. We constructed our own paintbrushes, and painted our cotton canvas in layers over the duration of the whole event. We got our hands dirty and had fun doing it! 📸 @followfoco
