Getting work in on a Friday night

Camden played a great game. Worked a 9 pitch walk in his first AB then went on to steal 2B and 3B. In his next AB, he came so close yet again to hitting his first big boy homerun. After the game, he insisted on showing off how young his eyes are and proving is part bat by catching fly balls off the fungo racket.

Game results did not go Cam’s way this weekend and he was extremely unlucky with 3 hard hit balls being hit directly to the fielder and being hit by a pitch. But he showed amazing maturity after both games and helped with his brother’s t-ball team and then put in work on areas he thought he needed to improve and put in hour and half on Saturday and Sunday. I’m so proud that he understands sample sizes and that hard work will eventually pay off. His defense really shined this weekend with making a great catch in Saturday whole ranging into shallow CF (stupid GameChanger cut out before that inning) and was an absolute wall behind the plate allowing no one to run on him and with only a handful of balls getting past him. On Sunday, he got to put all that work on showcase by throwing out a runner and having another where the SS wasn’t able to get the tag down on a perfect throw. He is really taking to being a leader on the field by being the first teammate to congratulate teammates on their successes or help pick them up. The opposing coaches even went out of their way to talk to him after the game and tell him how impressed they were with play. We cant be prouder of the work ethic and the positive role model he is to his brother.

Cam’s hitting from Friday night. He is truly starting to get confident and comfortable in the box. With his music choices and bat flips I think it’s becoming apparent.

Cam put in a ton of work today on catching and got his transfer down from his personal best of 1 second to new best of 0.79 seconds. He has plenty of room to keep going but we’re on the right track thanks to @lugo.baseball.
