30 🤍

I’m still taking it all in. And I think I might give myself this entire month to do exactly that. To take in this life, everything I’ve become, everything I’ve endured, everything I’ve learned and unlearned, and every version of myself that had to exist for me to be standing here today.

I’m grateful for all of it. The doors that opened and the ones that had to close. The things I fought to hold onto and the things I learned to release. Every high, every low, every heartbreak, every redirection.
But more than anything, I’m grateful for MY people. The people I’ve loved and the people who have loved me. The ones who have held me, challenged me, celebrated me, laughed and danced with me, and made this life so incredibly worth living.

These past few days felt like a reflection of everything I want my life to stand for: love, kindness, joy, presence, gratitude, acceptance, connection, learning and unlearning. Sometimes I look at myself almost from a third-person point of view and I can see the joy in me. The light. The brightness. And I know that didn’t happen by accident. It has been years of rebuilding, forgiving, trusting, letting go and coming back home to myself.

And maybe one of my biggest wins walking into 30 is realizing that healing doesn’t have to happen in isolation. Some of the deepest healing can happen in community: in friendship, in laughter, in being witnessed, in letting people show up for you and allowing yourself to receive the same love you so freely give.

So I enter 30 grateful for everything behind me, present with everything around me, and so excited for everything still ahead. I don’t need to know exactly what the next decade holds, but I’m ready, excited and willing 🫶🏽

Before I share a single stage picture, I would be remiss if I did not shout out my support system!

First and foremost to God be the glory for even giving me the ability to step on stage! As a coach, I work with people every day, helping them navigate the nuances of managing their health in a world that truthfully does not want you to be healthy. So I know not only firsthand, but through multiple client experiences how hard it is to navigate nutrition, training, and all of the things. So to be able to do so at this high of a level while still running my own business, showing up as a husband, coach, friend, and soon-to-be father 😉. I know Jesus is the only reason I’m capable of this!

Next would be my wife! I’ve been telling everyone we’ve had two P’s in our house. Pregnancy and Prep and those two things are hard to mix at times, but I told her I didn’t want to look back and say my kids are the reason I didn’t do ______. For me the ____ is hop on stage, but for you it could be something else. She graciously heard me out and rolled with the punches. And don’t worry, if she had any cravings during my prep I made sure I got them for her 🫡. Prep doesn’t put life on pause!

I honestly don’t think this post is long enough to express how much her support means to me. Bodybuilding can be a lonely sport because the extremes are never understood, but with her she’ll ask for clarity, and never judge. And her feedback on my physique is always objective! She even helped coach me from the crowd which is a huge reason I got a medal in the first place! I just want to say I love you baby and the looks I bring to the stage wouldn’t be possible without you. Your prayers and graciousness mean a lot to me!
