🖤My betrayal list🖤

I saw this trend going around and felt like joining in.

Who or what is on your betrayal list?

What are your Saturday plans? I am going golfing this morning, the weather is currently really nice out so let's hope it stays like that.

👊Fight Club👊
By Chuck Palahniuk

This book is unhinged, but in that way that makes it impossible to put down. What starts as a story about insomnia and support groups quickly spirals into full-blown chaos. It’s a slow, and quite fascinating descent into madness. Palahniuk’s writing is gritty, darkly humorous, and painfully honest.

Beneath all the soap (IYKYK) and violence, it digs into the “nature of men” (meaning humanity), consumer culture, and the search for meaning in a shallow world. The mental health unraveling is wild to witness. You know it’s going to crash and burn, but you absolutely cannot look away.

It’s disturbing, and brilliant. I enjoyed Palahniuk’s style of writing and would love to read more by him!

As always, some favorite quotes:
“It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.”

“You know how they say you only hurt the ones you love? Well, it works both ways.”

“At the time, my life just seemed too complete, and maybe we have to break everything to make something better out of ourselves.”

“You buy furniture. You tell yourself, this is the last sofa I will ever need in my life. Buy the sofa, then for a couple years you’re satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you’ve got your sofa issue handled. Then the right set of dishes. Then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you’re trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you.”

👻mini review👻
AND
📱kindle makeover📱

I recently finished a reread of The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James for a bookclub and thought I’d share my thoughts! But also, check out my new Kindle case and stickers!! 😍😍

The Sun Down Motel was such a fun ghost story! 👻 I loved how the book blended a creepy supernatural vibe with a small-town murder mystery. The dual timeline chapters were one of my favorite parts; I thought it was so clever how the two stories mirrored and intertwined across decades.

Simone St. James has such a knack for balancing eerie atmosphere with strong female leads, and just the right amount of suspense. If you like ghost stories that read like mysteries, and that might have you checking the shadows while you read, definitely pick this one up!

QOTD: what’s your favorite ghost story? 👀

🖤Books🖤

So what are your books really about 😜

Haha 😄 just kidding not all books I'm reading have no plot. But some of them for sure haha. Sometimes it's just fun to read a book that's more smut than plot haha.

What's a book you like that's way more smut than plot?

💕we loved with a love that was more than love💕

I don’t think I’ve ever really shared the love I have for Edgar Allen Poe… but it runs deep. As an English major/former English teacher, I couldn’t escape Poe if I wanted to. But luckily, I absolutely love him!

The Tell-Tale Heart is probably my favorite of his short stories, but I also love The Fall of The House of Usher and The Cask of Amontillado. But his poems… 🥺😭 They have always just struck something with me.

My favorite is Annabel Lee, in my opinion, one of the greatest love poems ever. 💕

Do you have a favorite Poe piece?

Part 1 @spellboundinthevalley ✨

I don’t even know where to begin with this event — my heart (and camera roll) are overflowing with memories! So instead of rambling, I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves. 📸

If you see yourself or I missed a tag, drop your @ below so I can put an Insta name to the face!

Massive thank you to @theelvastefanie for taking a chance on me — not just this year, but for next year too (2026, here we come!) 🖤 You really did the damn thing and gave everyone something magical to hold onto… friendships, stories, and moments that’ll stick with us for a long time.
To every author, vendor, staff member, and volunteer — you brought the vibes, the magic, and the heart to that event center. We made memories, connections, and a little bit of bookish history. 📚
