We took a trip over to chat with tomato queen Vicki during the height of harvest season! Vicki’s Veggies has been a staple for us since 2001, and Vicki is a proud eighth-generation family farmer in Milford. She’s got all the tomato varieties you could dream of plus so much other incredible veg, the sweetest staff, a roadside store full of her own wares & tons of local goodies!

Breakfast on the beach just hits different! 🏖️☀️ 🥪

We picked up the All Day Breakfast Sandwich from Luso Bites in Picton and brought it to Sandbanks for the perfect beachside breakfast!

A toasted & buttered brioche bun stacked with a fried egg, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato and chouriço sausage, finished with roasted garlic pimenta cream cheese.

Seriously… this sandwich was EVERYTHING. The perfect combination of savoury, creamy, crispy and fresh—and somehow it tasted even better with our toes in the sand!

A perfect start to County Summers.

Last night we were invited by Hans and Judy to experience the first farm dinner of the season at @paperkite.farm , and it was a beautiful reminder that the best meals begin long before they reach the plate.

Every ingredient, every story, every thoughtful detail reflected a deep respect for their heritage, a genuine love of community, and a commitment to caring for the land that nourishes us all.

This wasn’t simply dinner. It was an invitation to slow down, gather around one table, and experience food as it was always meant to be shared.

Thank you, Hans and Judy, for opening your farm, your hearts, and your table. We left inspired, deeply nourished, and already looking forward to the next visit.
