Sundays belong to the Sun, a planet representing vitality, brightness and joy! In that case, let’s talk about the fragrance “mother king.”

“mother king” fragrance was developed to balance the solar plexus chakra, aromatherapy that boosts self-confidence while simultaneously providing comfort in humility. A ginger lemon aroma with a hint of yellow flowers, this fragrance can be used as an ego check when experiencing unpleasant sensations stored in the gut such as irritability, humiliation and shame. Ruled by the Sun and the element fire, the solar plexus chakra is the control center where our willingness and courage to take action towards our desires occurs; where we discover worth, dignity, and confidence. The solar plexus chakra is also associated with the color yellow and the zodiac sign Leo.

Inspired by the 1960s Vanity Fair’s Our Little Beauty lingerie campaign, the protect(HER) campaign explores individuality and sensuality through the smell of freedom as a woman aligns the attributes of her inner being and unveils her multiple forms. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the full campaign at the link in my bio!

Happy Venus Day! Since Friday is ruled by Venus, I thought I’d take some time to share a little information about my fragrance “Heart’s Mirror.” 💚🪞

Ruled by the planet Venus and the element air, the heart chakra is the control center where emotional ties to the past are stored, where we experience empathy, grief, compassion and sorrow. The fragrance “Heart’s Mirror,” was developed to promote emotional balance in the spiritual body and alleviate emotions that bring tension to the chest. The spiritual components of the fragrance can also attract love and abundance (can also be used in a bath or mopping your space).

Happy Love Day, y’all. 💘 In the spirit of spreading love, I’m excited to share the official fragrance campaign for protect(HER)! Inspired by the 1960s Vanity Fair’s Our Little Beauty lingerie campaign, the protect(HER) campaign explores individuality and sensuality through the smell of freedom as a woman aligns the attributes of her inner being and unveils her multiple forms.

A huge thank you to my dearest friend @marquisperkins for capturing such dreamy images, @chardesmithanglin for making me look like four different divas, @sarahxboll for bringing her fairytale talent to the set design and my baby girl @niag for using her good eye proofreading the copy! The full campaign can be found in the link in my bio and I will also be rolling out my alter egos overtime on social!

@tripleeightcreative The New Beauty Counter was a conversation I’ve been dying to have.

Curating this room for @techweeka16z and this conversation felt so necessary, and the end result exceeded my expectations.

I found some of the most amazing people to help bring this conversation to life, and what happened in the room was exactly what I hoped for: honest, layered, thoughtful, and real.

@nejlareneestyling moderated the conversation, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better person to lead the room.

Meredith brought the corporate and retail perspective, speaking to the operational side of how the beauty industry works and where it still falls short when it comes to customer experience.

Wah-De from @kulaborativeworks brought the digital marketing perspective, which was so needed. Brands need to understand how to connect with their audience better, what tools can help, and why community cannot just be treated like a buzzword.

And @thebeautestudy had the mic drop of the evening when @maedelessentials asked how darker skin tones get represented in foundation ranges.

That moment said so much.

This conversation opened the door to why I’m building Char and why improving the connection between clients, beauty professionals, brands, and community matters so much.

The question is not just how we use technology.

The question is how we elevate the experience without losing sight of the most important person in the room:

the customer.

This was The New Beauty Counter at @theshopbk

And we’re just getting started.

Thank you to our vendors for making the experience so much better.

@tripleeightcreative The New Beauty Counter is rooted in community, so the room had to reflect that.

This isn’t just a panel. It’s a space for beauty, culture, connection, and the businesses shaping how we show up.

I’m proud to feature three Black women-owned small businesses during The New Beauty Counter @shopworkspace :

@maedelessentials
@luxyhaus / @amandaluxe
@adornnewyork

Come meet them, shop with them, support them, and experience the room we’re building together.

Because the new beauty counter isn’t just about what we buy.

It’s about who we discover.

An official @techweeka16z event

Happy 1st y’all! I’m back! 😎

Since there’s an eclipse coming up, I thought I’d take advantage of the current gibbous moon in Leo 🦁 and call in that last minute sweetness.🍬

I’ve revamped the branding for my chakra 🧬 fragrance line and have now included floor washes! 🫧 Spring Equinox is coming up so if you’re trying to do some shedding beforehand, hit my line! 🫶🏾✨

Tusslin’ with tarot early this week since we have a New Moon in Taurus occurring at 15:31 EST! 🌑

I used my personal deck, The Hoodoo Tarot, for this one and I’m speaking about what we need to release, begin and sustain as we enter into this new lunar cycle! I hope it resonates!

Card(Original Rider-Waite)

Release- Eight of Coins (Eight of Pentacles)
Begin- Seven of Sticks (Seven of Wands)
Sustain- Gullah Jack (The Hanged Man)

In the spirit of devotion, I recall a return to love. There is an awareness to a history of abandonment and loss plaguing Black union, where each Auction Day my ancestors held their breath on whether they’d be forced to depart from their loved ones indefinitely.

This long stem of detachment and foreignness developed distance between The Lovers, birthing adversity and distrust. But I wonder (a whole lot) when we’ll be ready to love again.

Special thanks to @geo.wanjala and @gabufords for being my muses, @prettyfacemase @nirbasbeauty and @photoman254 for being my visionaries and @andrewmathew.g for helping me breathe life into the theme. 🩵
