Congratulations to the girls’ cross country team on winning the IHSA Lockport Regional with a perfect score of 15 points. This was their 2nd straight Regional title. The Knights were led by Regional champion Mia Forystek in a time of 18:23 on the 5k course. Forystek dropped 34 seconds compared to last week’s race at Lockport. Ana Dal Ponte was 2nd running 18:34, which was 6 seconds faster than last week. Jillian Davies was 3rd, Grace Mathis was 4th, and Katie Petrosky was 5th. All 5 runners earned All-Regional honors. The Knights had 7 runners in the first 8 positions as freshmen Ava Zartler was 7th and Laney Hoff was 8th. The Knights did an outstanding job packing up and pushing each other. It was very impressive seeing Dal Ponte, Mathis, Petrosky, Zartler, and Hoff drop time from last week’s Conference race at Lockport as well as run course best times even when compared to Lockport’s old 3 mile course. The Knights host Sectionals next Saturday at the Oaks where they look to defend their Sectionals title. @lwcentralknights @lwcknightmares @illinoisrunnews

***Tomorrow***
⚔️ ONE MORE BATTLE. ONE MORE CHANCE. ONE TEAM. ⚔️

When you step on that field, leave everything out there. Every tackle, every run, every pass, every ounce of heart. Play for the crest on your chest, the teammates beside you, and every moment that brought you here.

The season may be on the line, but you get to decide how you fight. No regrets. No holding back. Just 90 minutes of heart, grit, and KNIGHTS soccer. 🖤⚽️
