Introducing our cast!!

The brilliant Bon Cooper will play our lead role, ‘John Boy’ - Bon has already been in ‘Lord of the Flies’ (BBC), a feature film called ‘The State of Us’, and the wonderful ‘God of Mischief’ short film that is currently making huge waves on the film festival circuit.

Kathryn Georghiou, our writer/director, is a seasoned screen actor and will take on the role of ‘Mum’.

The real John Taylor will play the role of ‘Dad’, with Lydia Kay and Adam Reilly playing ‘Sarah’ and ‘Paul’.

Lastly, Michelle Huirama will play Bon’s primary school teacher, ‘Miss Cheryl’.

And that completes our cast!

If you want to find out more about them then head over to our crowdfunder page where you will find their bios and links to their IMDB pages.

And if you have any money to spare please donate to our crowdfunder to make sure we can make ‘John Boy’ a reality. You donations will go towards finishing our film and ensuring we can show it to the people that need it most.

Do you know the difference between a Director and a Director of Photography?

The Director guides the narrative and performances, the Director of Photography (DP or Cinematographer) turns those ideas into stunning images. From lighting setups to camera movement, together they work to build the visual atmosphere that brings a story life.

And tomorrow, we will introduce you to ours. So stayed tuned.

In the meantime, please hit the repost and share buttons to help us spread the word about our film and our crowdfunding campaign: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/john-boy-short-film#

Thank you! ☺️

Why tell the story through the eyes of a child?

It is important to show the full impact that domestic violence and abuse has and how it can impact survivors. We often see domestic violence spoken about with regards to women and girls, but this issue is much larger and more complex than just that.

With our short film John Boy, we intend to bring attention to these areas as well as raising awareness of domestic abuse and violence as a whole. We will also be creating an awareness pack to go with the film that will contain information, resources, and ways to reach out for help.

Please do keep showing your support for our crowdfunding campaign by liking and sharing our posts, and sharing the link to our crowdfunding campaign which you can find in our bio.

Together, let’s do better. ❤️

Find out what producing on John Boy means for Lydia, and why she works as a film producer.

If you’re following and supporting our film and have a question that you’d like to ask the team making this film, about John boy or about filmmaking in general, then please comment and ask us. We’d be happy to answer and share more, without too many spoilers of course!

We really appreciate all of the support being shown for John Boy, but what we need most now is to help our crowdfunding campaign reach more people. So we’d be super grateful if you could hit the repost button, share our posts and the link to the crowdfunder to your stories, and tell people you know about the film. Thank you so much. 🙌🏻
