This is what “100% fruiting bodies” actually looks like.

Shiitake, grown on real hardwood logs in the USA. Not mycelium on grain. Not filler. The mushroom itself, dried and extracted into every bag of coffee, every gummy, every tincture.

Labor Day weekend: 35% off everything. Free frother auto-added with any Instant Arabica or Robusta.

Code LABOR35 → www.lyfemushrooms.com. Ends Monday.

There comes a time in one’s Lyfe when, to get to where you have to go — if there are no doors or windows — you will walk through a wall.” — Bernard Malamud
Most of the time we’re taught to look for the opening. The permission slip. The right moment. And sometimes there isn’t one. Sometimes the only way forward is straight through the thing you’ve been circling.
The ocean does this every day. It doesn’t negotiate with the shore.
E hele ma waena o kēlā pā. — go through that wall.
What’s the wall you’ve been walking around? 👇

Somewhere in a Costa Rica gift shop, a sloth is giving better advice than most of my mentors did.
“It wasn’t until late in life that I discovered how easy it is to say ‘I don’t know.’”
— W. Somerset Maugham
We’re trained to have an answer ready. To fill the silence. To perform certainty we don’t actually have. And it’s exhausting — the maintenance on a bluff costs more than the bluff ever earns.
Three words end that whole contract. I don’t know. Say them once and you’ll notice nothing collapses. The room gets more honest. You get lighter.
ʻAʻole au i ʻike — I do not know.
Where in your life are you performing certainty you don’t have?
🦥 Slow down. Relax. Pura vida.

The wind doesn’t care where you’re headed. You do. ⛵

“If you don’t know where you are going, no wind is favourable.” — Seneca

You can be busy, fast, even lucky with the breeze… but without a destination, motion isn’t progress. A full sail with no heading just takes you somewhere — rarely where you actually wanted to go.

Direction beats speed. Get clear on where “there” is, and suddenly every wind — the good days and the hard ones — starts moving you toward it.

E kiʻi i kahi palapala ʻāina — go get a map. 🗺️

Grief and love live in the same place — one aches, the other stays. 🤍

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
Aloha a hiki i ka wā e ʻeha ai.

To everyone carrying someone in their heart today: the memories are yours to keep. No one can take them. Hold them close, and keep living fully — that's the best way to honor them.

Cold plunge before the coffee. ✌️

3 minutes in the ice. 15 in the sauna. Then the rest of the day owes me nothing.

Salt Lake mornings hit different when you start them on purpose.
