It was such a wonderful experience competing in the 100th year anniversary of the Miss Miami Pageant! What I love about the @missmiamicompetition is that it’s not solely a beauty pageant. It is a pageant that celebrates the health, talent, commitment to service and confidence, of young women while creating role models in the community. It was so inspiring to be in the midst of a group of women who are confident and fiercely passionate about serving their communities. This was my first-ever pageant, and I’m so grateful to have been mentored by Miss Florida @officialjuliettevalle and former Miss Cuba, Damaris Aguiar. @damarisaguiar Pageants like these are so empowering because they challenge young women to grow in confidence, speak their minds and eloquently express their views. I’m so thankful for the experience and that I dared to follow through. Whenever you’re doing something you’ve never done before, there will always be a small voice in the back of your mind telling you that you should just give up, but I’m so grateful that I didn’t listen. I’m so glad that I followed through. By following through, I ended up being in a space filled with so many inspirational women! I ended up challenging myself in different lengths and It changed the way I view myself. I celebrate intitiatives like this and I look forward to what the future holds!
