what a journey it’s been to get this little one into our lives…

friends~ meet Willa Maeve Hopes, the newest and cutest member of our pack❤️‍🔥🐴 She decided she was ready for this world 13 days early, making a dramatic appearance on February 18th.

I think we’re both a bit shocked at how easily she has fit into our lives, like she was never not there.

Thank you for making us mom & dad, Willa💞♾️ can’t wait for every day with you

—A couple years ago we were stoked to hear a toad croaking at night on our property. By some miraculous way of mother nature, it had found its way to our natural pool.. quite literally in the middle of the desert. The next year, there were two. They laid a bunch of eggs, of which we only saw a few develop into tadpoles and survive.

This year…. SIX! The family seemed to be growing exponentially, and we now have *thousands* of tadpoles swimming about. We love being a little oasis in the desert for these guys, but we’re also slightly terrified at their growing numbers…. 😬🐸

—happy pool season, friends💦
A couple weeks ago we gave our natural pool a DEEP spring cleaning, and added a couple features to help keep the ecosystem balanced and algae growth at bay. Maintaining a natural swimming pool has been *quite* the challenge, but the refreshing sparkly water after a deep clean is more than worth it, right @alexhopes ? ;)

One of our favorite features of a natural pool is being able to share it with nature, like the cattails and yellow iris flowers feeding off of and filtering the waters, AND our (exponentially) growing family of toads, who have found their way to our literal desert oasis. more on them to come.. 🐸🪷

6 days and 80 miles rafting down the Main Salmon River in Idaho with 30 amazing people. First time the painting gear was packed in a dry bag!

Dangerous business in Indonesia.

Photographing a pack of wild puppies is not for the faint of heart. What we thought would be a unique opportunity to experience wild puppies in their natural environment quickly turned to heartbreak when we realized we couldn’t bring them back on the plane with us.
