POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday was the two year anniversary of my fall where I dislocated my elbow and tore my ACL. As a celebration of how far I’ve come I knee-climbed, hung from my knees, and did big scary drops.

I can barely describe how long and short at the same time these past two years have felt. I can hardly believe it. There have been so many ups and downs, tears, moments of doubt, and small victories that have added up. And I’m so proud of where I am today.

Humongous thanks to @acl_academy and @kindra.acro for guiding me throughout every step.

Thank you to every single person who’s supported me along the way, subbed classes for me, assisted in my classes, given me rides to and from work, driven me to countless doctor appointments and picked me up when I didn’t think I could keep going @juliamcd522 @katelynnnoelle @anaisvanderpoel @_sierra.dawn_ @eryn_lilley @m1rrag
@d3dnymph @bella_cs_616 @bellaandtiki

And to my students who gave me a reason to keep coming to the studio each day @hollymakes220 @athena._.elizabeth @helen_balou

@annath206 for coaching me through my comeback acts

and so many more people, every single person who’s checked in on me and sent kind words. I can’t say thank you enough.

It gets better ♥️ and there’s so much more to come 🌄❤️‍🔥

6 to 8: Screenprinting and crafts (BYOS)
8 on: dancing, raving, jumping, expressing, emoting

$10 SUGGESTED DONATION

Show’s only a couple weeks away!!!!! Second weekend in January. 6:30pm shows Fri-Sun with a 3:30 matinee on Sunday, January 12th. Sliding scale $15-80. Detailed info is in the “tickets” link at www.surveillanceshow.com

Surveillance is a 90 minute show that abstractly dances across how technological apparatuses mediate our vision of self and other.

This reel is a little summary of our rehearsals and experiments at @lookoutartsquarry! Videographies and engineering by me, joaquin, @jakefery , @hdawnsparks with aerial by @ktmaebe & emily of @circus.skywriters

Please consider making a donation to support the hundreds of hours of writing, researching, editing, choreography, invention and organization put in to create this genre-defying new media and aerial dance spectacle. Link in bio/ on website.

Remixing old ideas, getting better at mapping, cutting (ie nixing this idea of using the silks as a scrollable screen, at least for this show), rearranging, being amazed by my lovely cast n crewmates n helper buddies, learning to fly, falling, bewildered, awestruck, rearranging, yet very sure, which is odd, but good- a little scared, a bit of running, racing, but very sure: really very deep in it now. Ensconced? Cloaked? Communed. Concerted. Certainly not sleeping. Acting after years of learning. Still haven’t learned enough. Enough is just an excuse to deepen.🌌This is footage from previous show’s practice-time with the wonderful @juliamcd522 ! Take a silks class from her if yr ever near gig harbor! Seriously!!
