If you're up for it, we'd love to hook you up with a trio of pieces on the house! Yup, you read that right – totally FREE!

Just shoot a DM over to our main account @gnarcy.amb (if you dont see a DM button, just reply to any of their stories), and our guy Shawn will sort you out pronto! But hey, don't sleep on it – spots are filling up fast, and we'd hate for you to miss out on the action! Cheers, mate! 🤙

Great visual of what commitment looks like.

You can be interested.
You can be involved.
You can be a contributor.

Or you can down right be committed….

There’s a massive difference.

What are some things you may be involved with but you think you are committed to?

-finance
-career
-side hustle
-home
-parenting
-health
-relationships

Taking a Ready - Fire - Aim approach on this one…

In some recent reflection, I came to realize these 6 simple and memorable “D’s” can be used as a tracking framework for taking discussions to tangible and completed (done) actions.

So far this has been tested and works for:
-Business plans
-Event planning
-Creating tangible products
-Websites
-IGs
-Projects
-Team decisions
-Party plans
-What you order for dinner
-Misunderstandings and disagreements
etc.

I have noticed that this would work really well even in my current job place. Plenty times a group discusses something and then comes back and thinks it’s done. Only to find out that nobody did step 2 and did work.

Sometimes a draft (step 3) comes out, but no dialogue happens on the decide portion (step 4).

I’ve learned steps in the middle (2-5) are the most challenging and the most space for communication and understanding gaps.

Sometimes you think you’re rounding step 5, then catch yourself right back at step 1…
This is not a bad thing, this is essential to getting to the right “done” and completed section.

As a 3G (3 Generation) Coach for Boomer, Gen Xer’s, Millennials and soon to be Gen Y and Z…

This 6 step process is a 💎 when doing collaborative work across generations.

Sharing with you all and we will be developing more and more as we learn, experiment and apply these principles 🤙🏽

@maddahearth & @kakoucollective had a collab sticker that said.

“Less wala’au more hana.” 🕺🏽 That’s how you boogie from Discuss to Done 🤙🏽

@simonsinek and @garyvee are saying the same thing about leadership and Culture.

Just in different ways with slightly different approaches.

This week’s theme. Bring an end to assholism in organizations.

They are just out there saying what everyone else is thinking 🤙🏽

They are just saying out loud what folks say near the water cooler and behind closed doors.

Culture = Speed
Trust = Speed

Speed = Performance and Delivering on mission and business goals along with better morale, purpose and fulfillment.

Who’s the asshole? Who’s the naturally gifted leader?

Put them both on notice. Asshole with negative consequences for continued behaviors. Naturally gifted leader with positive consequence for continued behavior.

Please please, don’t “promote” or reward the asshole. Even if they’re a high performer. Behaviors that get rewarded get repeated.

Go after the root, not the symptom 🔥

Pre-covid, when family gatherings were more common…

My cousins, ranging from ages 23-40 would cruise and talk story and talk about Culture sometimes.

Most times, it would trail back to a senior worker, dragging down the morale, talking shit to everyone and walking around like they know it all and their shit don’t stink.

They pick on and pick at the young new hires, just below the threshold of EEO levels.

Sometimes they’re just the senior peer, sometimes they may be in a positional authority position with huge decision making power.

Don’t get me wrong. Respect for elders is a part of Polynesian culture, but that respect comes with a level of CARE and FEEL OF FAMILY which elders in our family provide.

In my job, especially when I was younger there were so many 💩 heads that I wanted to “meet outside.”

But like every company, that never happens cause everyone can’t afford to lose their job and have a record.

As I watch all the graduation images come through my feed,

I think of all those kids within the next 1-5 years who will come home to their parents (cause they can’t afford a home in Hawaii) and explain how much of an asshole the toxic senior worker in their job is.

@garyvee talks about letting go toxic workers who perform well if they “don’t play nicely and kindly” with everyone.

Their impact is toxic.

So where are we now and how do we put an end to it?

They’re about to fuck with our kids real soon.

They’re about to piss off that one co-worker who’s may “break” and do something stupid at the workplace.

Courage is doing the right thing. Where is it when it comes to this topic?

Put a end to assholism & 💩 heads this week 🤙🏽

I loved this post from @etthehiphoppreacher.

My wife tells me: “This is so you.” 🤔

A lot of times in planning and brainstorming phases of projects, tasks, vision, etc.

many, will only talk about the rainbows and fairy dust versions of the plan.

I.E. if things go perfect. If there’s training wheels on every step, this is really good.

Things rarely go perfect. When the real work starts or the execution phase is happening,

Murphy’s law hits and shit happens

Without the “party pooper” discussions the team ends up reacting or standing around waiting for someone to come up with a solution, that could have been discussed in the planning phase.

Better yet, alternatives could be set up to take over instead of causing massive pauses and delays.

Humans like to have these convos in high stakes, life and death scenarios instead of for all facets of life.

Not having these discussions and having the solutions and decisions made up front is a huge momentum killer. When you kill momentum, you waste precious time and energy.

After the job or task is done, the Monday morning quarterback turns on and sometimes teams begin in-fighting on things they could have mitigated and prepared for had they just ran real conversations with multiple scenarios and outcomes and ways out of the hole, before hand..

Companies and Cultures. Give your dooms day person on your team a break.

They’re really just channeling the team to be PREPARED for the 💩 that will come your way. They’re being practical and realist.

There’s a difference between planning and preparing. When things don’t go as planned (cause they never do), are you prepared?

#SoulFullSunday

Sometime last year, I remember seeing this video.

I remember growing up and hearing. One of the worst things in life for someone to experience is burying their own child. 😞

I spent some time with my elderly grandma. She has buried 2 of her children. Both very young. This man’s story resonated with me. He kept going, he stayed positive and his presence makes an impact.

I remember feeling like my life got real at the end of senior year.

What really happens is your life gets exhilarating.

I believe the children are our future as well. Society, Financials haven’t made the trek much easier.

Don’t shit on the one still living at home, cause you moved out at 18. Yeah. Gas prices were like 47 cents at the pump and rent was like 500 a month too. 🤔

Go get em grads 🤙🏽
