JIJI’s Jazz Club is much more than a place to hear live music; it is a space built around community, creative freedom and a genuine sense of belonging. Through monthly live jazz performances, open jams and artist markets, JIJI’s has created an electric environment where musicians, artists and appreciators alike can congregate to completely express themselves.

The origin of JIJI’s stems from multidisciplinary artist Tída Norasingh’s yearning to recreate a community rooted in the traditional jazz culture through the open jam. After struggling to find the exact energy she was going for, Tída decided to create it herself. What began as a small gathering to play music with friends has quickly grown from a studio, to a patio, to the main stage of established venues throughout the city - all while maintaining Tída’s vision of putting collaboration over competition and people over numbers.

We look forward to highlighting more of Tída and JIJI’s Jazz Club this week.

Through a yearning for organic human interaction and community building, Good Neighbor @goodneighborsonly has brought the innovative concept of a laundromat cafe to Hermosa Beach.

Owner and South Bay local, Kiana Barnet, combined her analytical approach to business with a bit of whimsy, turning a boring yet essential activity into a pleasant part of the South Bay daily routine. True to its name, Good Neighbor has personified exactly that within the community. The establishment has curated a community block party, hosted a series of run clubs offering discounts to participants, and introduced its “Summer Nights” series, inviting people to join them on Thursday and Friday evenings for a calmer, more intimate get-together.

So how does it sound? Putting in a load of laundry, grabbing a banana bread matcha, and taking a 2 minute walk to the beach. We look forward to highlighting more of Kiana and Good Neighbor this week.

Monday Motivation

LA native Ben Chi has unlocked the code to what many are in pursuit of: living in their passion. Ben has always had a keen love for soccer, pop culture, and fashion, and through much trial and error, has carved out a path to intersect all three with his creative soccer agency. Most recently, Ben’s agency strung together a series of over 20 events and activations with Niky’s Sports @nikys_sports during this year’s World Cup, including collabs with Nike Football, and appearances from Mexican soccer legend Marco Fabián and renowned hip-hop vocalist Ty Dolla $ign. Ben attributes his fortune to persistency through taking risks over knowing the exact path to living your dream.
