🟡 |EN| Works by Mab.ko, one of the winning artists of our recent Open Call, are currently on view on UMA’s walls.

A multidisciplinary visual artist born in France and based in Porto, Mab.ko develops a practice between drawing, painting, and sculpture, shaped by an exploration of composition, scale, and the construction of a personal visual language.

Drawing plays a central role in her process, generating forms, patterns, and symbols that unfold across different media, from painting to illustration, from ceramics to sculpture. Rooted in ordinary fragments and invisible landscapes, her work creates a poetic and sensitive language where materiality, memory, and transformation coexist.

In 2025, she was awarded the Afinidades Prize for Contemporary Ceramics by the Soares dos Reis National Museum.
