POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s that time of the year again when I start my scouting for a spot to shoot the fireworks for NYE in London. The purpose of this post is to highlight the shots I have taken in the past from multiple different vantage points and if any building or company tagged would like to give me a spot to shoot the fireworks for this upcoming NYE celebrations at the London Eye. If anyone is able to accommodate me, please DM me. Thank you 😀

🥂 A milestone worth celebrating!

Ragstone Ridge was delighted to supply the wine for the topping-out ceremony with Pankhurst Contracting and @macegroup at Berkeley Square, Mayfair.

A topping-out ceremony marks a significant moment in construction — the placement of the highest part of a building — and we were thrilled to help celebrate this exciting milestone.

A huge thank you to the team for having us be part of such a special occasion. Here’s to celebrating achievements, great partnerships and many more milestones ahead! 🍷

One of the most valuable parts of our VIP Open day was the conversations it created. 🌳

Bringing together people from across the Armed Forces community, conservation, education, business and local leadership created the opportunity to share ideas, make new connections and talk about where our work could overlap in the future.

We were incredibly grateful to welcome representatives from organisations including the Eden Project, the Oak Foundation, Help for Heroes, the Royal Marines Association, Babcock, the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, Mount Edgcumbe and many more.

What made the day so valuable was the genuine interest shown in our team, our delegates and the wider ambitions of Secure Forests — not just in what we are doing now, but in what could come next!

Some brilliant conversations have already continued beyond the day, and we’re really looking forward to seeing where they lead.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time to join us at Mount Edgcumbe and be part of it. 🌳

Trigger warning: this post mentions suicide.

Mates in Mind has been advocating for a proactive approach to mental health for the last decade, but with deaths by suicide in the construction industry 3.7 times higher than the national average, shockingly almost two deaths per day, it has never been more important to know how to spot the signs and start a conversation.

However, if you have not done this before, you may not feel confident in asking “Are you ok?” and remembering to ask twice. You don’t need to have all the answers and you do not need to be a mental health professional, but checking in with a colleague can make them feel seen and heard, and that is a really important first step.

This is why, Mates in Mind, in partnership with BSI, B1M, CIOB, CITB, The Supply Chain Sustainability School, Mace and the City of London Corporation, have developed a free practical resource pack for small businesses across the construction industry.

‘Looking out for each other: Practical guidance on suicide for people in construction’ (please see our comment below for the link) includes:

+ A practical guide for having a conversation when you're worried about someone.
+ An on-site action sheet with simple steps to keep to hand.
+ A toolbox talk to help teams start the conversation.

The resources are designed to be practical and easy to use, whether you're a business owner, manager, employee, subcontractor or self-employed.

Know what to say. Know what to do. Know where to turn.

Just completed in the heart of Picadilly is the pioneering 30 Duke St. Proud to say, on time, on budget, whilst leading the way for a circular construction approach. To deliver such a building takes collaboration and commitment from the whole team.

🚂 Our first commercial freight train arrived at Sizewell C in September, carrying more than 1,000 tonnes of construction materials from Tunstead Quarry in Derbyshire, along our new Green Rail Route, with the train stretching around 270 metres long!

🌙 Freight trains travel at night to minimise disruption at level crossings, with materials unloaded straight onto site.

🤝 This milestone was made possible through close collaboration between Sizewell C, atkinsrealis, @balfourbeatty @macegroup, @networkrail and many others.

🚆 Watch the first train roll into Sizewell C in the early hours of the morning and see the Green Rail Route in action. #SizewellCOnTrack

Celebrating engineering at its best: Manchester Airport transformation – Terminal 2 shortlisted for the Structural Awards 2026.

The reconfiguration of Manchester Airport's existing Terminal 2 completes the second phase of the airport's £1.5bn transformation. This major retrofit demonstrates the value of adapting existing infrastructure to meet contemporary requirements. The judges praised the comprehensive assessment of the existing structure, which enabled substantial retention while accommodating new floors, circulation routes and stability interventions.

Congratulations to Buro Happold, MAG (Airports Group), Pascall+Watson, BAM UK & Ireland, Bethell Group, Mace (Mace Construct), NG Bailey, Hoare Lea and McCrory Holdings.

Come and celebrate this year’s shortlisted teams. Reserve your place at the Structural Awards 2026 ceremony at the link in our bio.

FOR THOSE WHO BUILD

📍Emergency Care Building - Derriford Hospital

Willmott Dixon’s biggest project in its 175-year history to date.
We were tasked with creating a piece that would inspire incoming staff and supply chain partners to deliver something exceptional, on what will become one of the first major projects of the NHS New Hospitals Programme.

Our answer was a film built around the people, organisations and expertise that make a project of this scale possible.

We were proud to work alongside Willmott Dixon, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, NHS England, South Western Ambulance Service, Devon Air Ambulance, the RNLI, and the many exceptional supply chain partners who contributed their time, patience and expertise.

Year 10 and 11 have made a strong start to the new academic year, beginning their post-16 preparations with a series of college assemblies, followed by the Careers Fair.

We were especially delighted to welcome back former students Evie, Izzy and Autumn who spoke to students about their experiences of Barton Peveril; as well as the many other alumni who attended the Careers Fair.
