They say it’s the people that make the place and we couldn’t agree more. Precious Frivolities started as a dream and creative vision from @aprilmaddenstudio — a place where artists, designers and creatives could sell their work in a community focused, curated shop — championing the unique, the handmade, and the one-of-a-kind. It’s the kind of place that brings the joie de vivre.

Our short-term lease is coming to a close at the end of September and we are celebrating with one last soirée! This is your last chance to experience Precious Frivolities at 1712 Main Street. Toast to our next chapter with us! 🥂

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our Artist Reception & Talk at Precious Frivolities!

I had the pleasure of sharing my curated personal collection, NFS (Not for Sale), with several of the featured artists—including Tanith, Elise Gagliardi, and Rainey King—joining me to discuss their work. It was wonderful to hear directly from the artists and share the stories and relationships behind the pieces in my collection.

Elise Gagliardi also spoke about her own work and the two other artists featured in her exhibition with ION Gallery. Mathew Morgan shared thoughtful insights into his process and unique mixed-media paintings on glass, while Mackenzie Illustrates offered a wonderful look into her practice and approach to self-portraiture through still-life painting.

Thank you to all the artists who shared their work and insights, and to everyone who came out to listen, ask questions, and support our creative community. What a wonderful evening of art, conversation, and connection at Precious Frivolities!

Part 1 of a series highlighting some of our very favorite pages and panels from this year’s Cat Zine Fest!

“Concerned about maintaining a balanced diet? Consider: scream” from @jeannapappas is maybe my favorite line of recent memory. 😂 Anyone that’s ever had foster kittens screaming for mealtime knows that sound and expression all too well.

All zines pictured here available to purchase in-store and online! 📚🌎
