an elevated measure of prayer
2026

full film and collection available to view on mackhurdart.com

an elevated measure of prayer is a place of worship. it replicates the devotional logic of political internet culture. where the meme is the prayer, repetition is ritual, and the rabbit hole is an act of faith. the work operates through a language native to the internet, where meaning is never stated but recognized. political figures have been so thoroughly memeified that their images function as icons, their circulation as scripture.

the installation does not observe this from a distance. it reproduces it. the deeper you go, the more total the devotion becomes, until engagement is indistinguishable from belief. to reject a false god you must first submit to it. in that submission, the nature of the prayer remains the same.

grateful for my time and wonderful cohort at @goldsmithsmfa

excited to continue this collection as the content never stops to flow

also available on my website is a link to @grosseph.tv wonderful writing on the real housewives of new york city

The MFA degree show at Goldsmiths is fantastic. Fresh and surprising, it thrives despite the odds, in the shadow of cuts and institutional transformation.
But what amazing work.
Here’s a small sample that doesn’t do justice to the whole. Open until Tuesday.
(Tried to tag all who’ll let me.)
