The truth is that most of the magic in my artwork comes from all the beautiful people who model for me! These are a couple pictures of loved ones with the paintings I’ve painted of them. This has been my devoted practice for 14 years now and I have hundreds of paintings and drawings of so many of the magical people I’ve encountered in life. Im so grateful to everyone who has participated.

I’ve always been interested in fairytales, myths, and archetypes, and I also have an interest in art as a therapeutic practice. In 2012, I painted my first real self portrait. I used it as a way to tell a story about the heroine’s journey, and about navigating transitions in life. While I was making that painting, I found that it was so deeply therapeutic for me to paint myself into a piece of art about metamorphosis and healing. Spending time lovingly painting parts of my body that I had had a negative relationship with, also felt deeply healing. I immediately wanted to expand this practice to include other people. I always try to make paintings that touch on the old stories and archetypes, but that also have a personal and intimate feel to them. Every photo shoot is also a ritual.

I love working in this way and have so much gratitude for each person who has stepped in front of my camera. The 63 cards of my Mother Night Oracle deck were all made in this way, and in the back of the oracle booklet i have listed all the models and collaborators who were a part of this project. 💜This art has always been a collaboration with a vast web of magical women. 🌘🌑🌒 Thank you💜✨

A “little” something for the first Friday opening of Bloom @threyda gallery. A good excuse to bring out my IMF skills for the public to see. See it in real life this weekend 🌸

I’m celebrating this love today on our anniversary…
I love painting this guy, making new life together, and keeping things weird and silly through the highest highs, lowest lows, and in between. I’m very excited to get older and weirder together and to make paintings of him and his glorious nose through the years. 🙏🏼👃✨

Immense gratitude for the legends @android_jones and @glass_crane rinsing some of the @l1ghtbrush #DROIDBRUSH animations of Android’s Lyons mural 2.0 in such an epic fashion, betwixt an absolutely mind-blowing and next-level live visual performance with @ottsonic for @threyda’s Archetype at @missionballroom

So many incredible moments including some sick @microdosevr brushes made from @harrypackart’s @prismelves!
