We have news...
Welcoming the incredible Hazem Shammas to the RUINS ensemble!
Hazem steps into the role of Joe, Amelia's father. We're so thrilled to be working with Haz and to have his craft, experience and expertise in the room.
Hazem is a Palestinian Australian actor, renowned for his exceptional work in theatre and screen. He most recently played the title role in Bell Shakespeare's Coriolanus (2025), which earned him a Green Room Award nomination for Best Actor. On screen, he won a Logie for his role in Safe Harbour and most recently appeared in the political thriller The Correspondent. He's also part of the Marrugeku team as a producer.
Joe is in good hands. Welcome, Haz. We're so thrilled to be working with you ❤️🇵🇸🇱🇧

Back at it on RUINS أطلال. 🏛️

Working across time zones isn’t always easy, but travelling feeds the work too.

Maddy has just come from walking the ruins of Ephesus, where two huge amphitheatres still hold their shape and one last column of a temple stands for a god since fallen. Our show is set among the ruins of Baalbek and there’s nothing like standing in a place that once buzzed with life to feel how close another time can sit.

Reminders of the show are everywhere!

More soon. 🌿

PHIVE, 5 Parramatta Square
2 to 5 December
7pm nightly, plus an 11am show on Thursday 3 December
Tickets via the link in bio. ❤️

RUINS returns - and this time, it's coming to Parramatta

Mirrors sit at the heart of RUINS. They're the portal to the underworld, a place we reckon with who we really are. As Cocteau wrote "each day in the mirror I watch death at work." It's fitting then, that this is also the job of the artist, to hold a mirror up to the world.

We will not look away from the ruins of Gaza. We cannot look away from the ruins of Lebanon. So we return to this work and hold the mirror up again and again and again.

Tell your friends. Tell your families. This show is from our hearts to yours. Thank you @ntofp for giving us a platform for this special work.

2-5 December

Last weekend we had the pleasure of diving into the mythic with this incredible bunch of humans. As so many of us felt, it is so freeing to shake off the business of theatre and go back to the why. To play, explore, fail, succeed and find a sense of togetherness was pure magic. Thanks to our beautiful participants, we truly loved being on the floor with you ❤️ ♥️ ❤️
