POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One week on from LMF Presents: La La Land at 10! ✨

Thank you to everyone who came out for such a passionate celebration of Damien Chazelle’s masterpiece!

We couldn’t let Seb have all the fun! It was a joy to give jazz its own moment in the spotlight and celebrate the music that brings so much life to La La Land. Thank you for sharing our love for it 💙

We were also so pleased to screen @dansloanfilm ’s short film before the main feature. Local stories deserve that big screen too, and being able to show them alongside a film as loved as La La Land is something we’re excited to keep making space for. Thank you, Dan, for allowing your film to be part of the evening!

And of course, it was perfect to end the night with our Fools Who Dream post-screening discussion with @maddylloydjones and @_riostar; sharing our thoughts on the film and how it represents the creative pursuit of a dream. You were such an engaged audience and it was beautiful to be in a room where we all shared our love for this La La Land. That full discussion is available to read on our Letterboxd HQ!

A huge thank you, too, for sharing your own dreams with us — it was lovely to hear what you’re hoping to make happen. Here’s to the fools who dream!

Love,
The LMF Dreamers
💙

This week LMF had the pleasure of being invited by Voice ESEA and Milk Tea Films to a preview screening of HOPE by Na Hong-jin!

This is the exact kind of film that needs to be seen on the big screen: original, insane filmmaking at its most entertaining; with a pitch perfect cast, unfathomable production design and wild stunts!

It’s set in the remote village of Hope Harbor, where a police chief and his deputy must defend their community from a mysterious creature after wildfires sever all communications. What starts small spirals into something far bigger than anyone bargained for…

Our wonderful hosts also provided us with survival kit goodie boxes full of Korean snacks, first aid and promotional postcards: which were much needed comfort after the adrenaline rush of watching the film.

Thank you to Voice ESEA and Milk Tea Films - we had the best night!

Catch HOPE in cinemas from today!

It’s National Cinema Weekend, and we recommend you use a £4 ticket to see Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma!

We had the BEST time bringing Camp Miasma as a preview to you in August alongside our Sex, Death & the Slasher workshop. Here’s what you thought of the film, and the behind the scenes of how we got it to you!

Big thank you to @mubiuk for partnering with us on this, and to @picturehouse_fact for giving us the space to do what we do.

National Cinema Weekend is 5th - 6th September and gives you the opportunity to see films in cinemas for only £4 all weekend! So get going campers!

🎬 THE SANDBOX SHOWCASE: AUGUST 2026 🍿

Thank you to all our audience & filmmakers who came to our August Sandbox Showcase this week - we had the best time! But don’t take it from us: here’s what you had to say!

Our quarterly showcase is some of the highlights of our year, and we love the community it brings together. People outstayed the LMF team themselves this time! It’s such a genuine pleasure to be able to present such a wide range of incredible work from the North West all together on the big screen, and we’re so thrilled that you are as excited about it as we are.

The next Sandbox Showcase is November 18th - mark your calendars and we’ll see you there!

Love,
The LMF Team
