What an AMAZING evening with incredible childfree sistahs who completed the Chocolate & Childfree: Optimal Growth Group Experience🥰!
.
The gathering (long overdue) was a beautiful reminder of why No Bibs Burps Bottles was created - genuine community, connection, and support amongst childfree sistahs! We laughed through fun ice-breakers (Dr. Angela is great at lip-syncing 😂), engaged in meaningful discussions on hot topics (living alone vs. roommates - whew, lol), and shared valuable nuggets on health, wellness, finances, and more (creatine and a pinch of salt in water goes a long way).

Dr. Angela also provided both personal and professional updates that touched on reflection, growth, continued empowerment, and the importance of mental health and well-being.

I had so much fun @unifydeaffilmfestival Gala last night! 🥰

Over the past week I’ve had the amazing opportunity to see incredible Deaf films and projects and last night to socialize with many of the creators. You may recognize some familiar faces in these photos from Ginny and Georgia, Marvel’s Echo and The Squeaky Wheel. ❤️

Later in the day, on October 14, 2023, we hosted the initial panel discussion centered around overcoming obstacles on film sets. The participants shared invaluable insights on these barriers and strategies to surmount them.

We express our gratitude to the panel members for shedding light on the hurdles faced by disabled filmmakers, actors, and crew, and for outlining how industry professionals who are not disabled can contribute to establishing an inclusive environment on set during filming.

Following the screening, we kicked off the initial workshop on Saturday, October 14, 2023. It was a great success; all participants showed remarkable enthusiasm and focus throughout each workshop session.

October 13, 2023, first UDFF screening, we celebrated the deaf and hard of hearing filmmakers and their talent, celebrated the Deaf-led festival and having a Deaf and hard of hearing space.

We eagerly anticipate reliving this experience in 2025! It holds great significance for us, and we are committed to sustaining this festival.

Grateful to @tiff_net, @tara.dorey, @thatgirlhoda, @401richmond, @ontarioartscouncil, ASL Interpreters, UDFF team, TIFF staff, all the volunteers, sponsors, and donors.

what is filling your cup?

This past weekend I attended my second in person global training conference for Arbonne in Las Vegas. When the time came to sign up for it a few months back I had reservations - I would have a 5 month old nursing baby with two other children at home, maybe it wasn’t the right year for me to attend…

That’s when I knew I had to go, you see the moment you start justifying reasons to stay within your comfort zone is usually the exact reason you should challenge yourself and get uncomfy.

This business has challenged me in so many ways and is constantly reminding me where I’m going and who I’m doing this for. You see my main reservation for not going to Vegas was my children, like most moms, I too get mom guilt, I have a hard time putting myself first BUT

What I’ve learned as a mom is that we need to put ourselves first (a lot more than we realize) to be able to show up big and be the best version of ourselves for our children. As a mom, we constantly pour into others and literally never stop.

I knew because I almost used my children as an excuse, that it was time to go to Vegas. To be surrounded by leaders and visionaries who strive to serve others, lead with their heart and show up as the best versions of themselves. A lot of these women are moms, and a lot aren’t, but we all have a shared purpose in going to these events and that is to grow, to get uncomfortable and come back inspired.

Because we always come back home. I knew my children would be waiting for me when I got back. They missed me and I missed them, but now life is back to normal after 3 days away and I’m so proud of myself for choosing me.

So, if you’re a mom or someone who has a hard time putting yourself first; when’s the last time you poured into yourself? Because you deserve it 💖
