Last week we had the pleasure of partnering with UC-ANR’s Small Farms Network to meet with @cadepartmentofwaterresources and spend time with community and small farmers in the San Joaquin Valley. Thank you to @cadepartmentofwaterresources for meeting with Fairmead Community and Friends and @maderacounty staff to learn more about how we can create and implement community-centered projects that support sustainable groundwater management. We look forward to continuing to work with the state and community on multi-benefit, community-centered projects.

MADERA, YOUR REFORMER PILATES ERA IS HERE. 🤍 Movement is about more than how you look. It’s about how you feel, how you move, and how you show up for yourself. A study out of Arizona State University found an association between Pilates and a *36% lower risk of death*. While this doesn’t prove Pilates directly increases longevity, it adds to the conversation around movement and long-term wellness. At Balanced Flow Pilates, we believe in building a strong body, a calm mind, and a routine that makes you feel good from the inside out. No pressure to be perfect. No need to have experience. Just show up, move with intention, and find your balance. ✨ 📍 Reformer Pilates in Madera, CA 🤍 All levels welcome Your spot on the reformer is waiting. I had the honor of creating cookies featuring the logos of so many counties throughout the Central Valley! I loved getting to see all the little details in each logo—the similarities, the differences, and the unique things that represent each area. It was such a fun set to create! Do you live in one of these counties? Tell me which one you call home and what makes your county the BEST! #visalia #tulare #centralvalley #tularecounty #california @countyoftulare @mariposa_county @yourkerncounty @fresnocounty_ca @mercedcounty @stancounty @countyofkingscalifornia @sanjoaquincountyca @maderacounty

OUR CHILDREN ARE SCARED, AND WE CANNOT AFFORD TO STAY SILENT💔 Behind every headline and every raid, there are families living in fear — and children trying to make sense of it all. Children who are afraid their parents won’t come home. Children who are struggling to concentrate in class because they’re worried about what might happen to their families. Children who need comfort, reassurance, and someone to tell them they are not alone. Where is the support for our children? I am asking Madera Unified School District, our local school leadership, and our Mayor Cecilia “Cece” Gallegos to recognize the emotional toll these events are taking on our students and take meaningful action. Our schools need accessible counselors, mental health resources, safe spaces for students to express their fears, and clear communication with families about the support available to them. We cannot expect children to show up to school, focus on their education, and carry on as usual when they are overwhelmed with fear about the safety of the people they love most. Education is about more than academics. Our schools are also places where children should feel supported, heard, and cared for — especially during times of uncertainty and fear. To our school leaders: Please don’t wait for our children to reach a breaking point before offering support. Be proactive. Make resources available. Let these children know they have someone to turn to. Every child deserves to feel safe enough to learn, to dream, and simply to be a child. Our community needs leadership that listens, acknowledges the impact, and responds with compassion and action. Please speak up for Madera’s children. They may not know how to ask for help, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need it. Their voices deserve to be heard, too❤️‍🩹 #madera #supportourstudents #559 #ourchildrenmatter #communitysupport
