I take a LOT of pictures lol, many of them never make it to this page. Looking back on what quite literally felt like one hell of a year, here’s a little slice of what made me smile from Jan-Apr, 2025

Sharing this one on my regular account bc its Women’s Day, and this portrait of @raveena_aurora truly is one of my favorite things I have painted. I made this with underglaze on bisque. The lyric “a woman is holy” comes from her song “If Only” (its not on insta so i couldnt add it to this post 🥲)

TW: SA. Raveena’s music has been very influential to me over the years. It is filled with healing, and love, and resilience. I came across Raveena’s music shortly after FINALLY getting out of a relationship that was seggsually and emotionally abus1ve. Her album “Lucid” gave me so much comfort on my darkest days. I felt like a prisoner in my body and was filled with shame and so much grief at what I had endured. Her music helped me start to find my power again amidst the despair, in spite of what was done to me. It taught me that I could remain soft, and that my feelings were not too big for this world. Sending love to all the women who have fallen prey to the historically misogynistic society that we live in, that our ancestors endured. May we continue to fight for ourselves and our sisters around the world, because everyone deserves to live in safety and freedom 🤍 A woman is holy.
