💙 EVERY STEP HAS A STORY 💙

This September, I’m taking part in STEPtember and raising funds for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance — a cause close to my heart.

My older sister, Sam, lived with cerebral palsy and passed away from complications related to her condition in July 2008. She was only 19 years old. I had just turned 18.

To this day, she is still such a huge part of who I am. 💙

So this year, every step is for her.

You can enter into the draw here 👉🏼 run-go.fr/Pg6Q_U

A very special thank you to the incredibly generous women who donated their own time and talents to help me build this prize pool. 💙

I’m so grateful to each of you for getting behind something that means so much to me. Your generosity has helped me turn this little idea into something much bigger than I originally imagined, and I genuinely appreciate your support. 💙

Thank you for helping me make every step count.

💙 HOW TO ENTER

Head to my fundraising page via the link / QR code and make a donation 👉🏼 https://www.steptember.org.au/fundraisers/charlottelightfoot

Full draw entry details, eligibility requirements and conditions are available on the fundraising page, so please have a quick read before entering.

📅 Entries close 8pm, 30 September 2026
🏆 Winner announced 1 October 2026

For my sister, and for every family touched by cerebral palsy. 💙

1. Get degrees. I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to do but I completed a law degree & business degree (at 2 seperate universities at the same time LOL). I obliviously decided not to practice as a lawyer but they were both degrees that gave me lots of OPTIONS. I take my hat off to the mums studying now, I am so grateful I did that before I had my girls.
2. Salary sacrificed into my super. I know we aren’t really thinking about retirement in our 20’s, but when I was 18 my dad sat me down and explained how super accumulation works, and how adding a little extra now ends up a LOT by the time I need it. Because of that my super is better than anyone I’ve come across my age. I also picked my investment risk so I have some control over how it’s run. But I’m a control freak so 😂
3. Weight Training. I know that’s a bit of a given BUT when women don’t realise is your 20’s is when you can make the most impact to your bone density to set yourself up for later in life. I don’t want to be an old lady that trips and breaks my hip. I want to have a good quality of life for as-long as possible so whilst I love “looking fit” now, I have a long term “why” that is so much bigger than appearances.

Bonus #4 not getting pregnant when my partner when I was 20 was pressuring me to because his goal in life was to be a stay at home dad. #truestory

What’s something you thank you 20 year old self for? 🙏

There are two types of people when you travel…

One is at the airport with plenty of time to spare but still anxious about being at the wrong place or somehow missing it.

And then there are those that think the plane will wait for them, roll up on the final call and barely make it.

I am the first kind. @madigracept is the second 😂

When you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel… this is your reminder that it’s just around the corner.

And sometimes that light isn’t something you find on your own. It’s the people around you. The friend who texts to check in. The family member who shows up without being asked. The partner who sits with you in the hard stuff and doesn’t try to fix it, just stays.

When you’re deep in it, it can feel like you’re carrying the whole thing alone. You’re not. Look up. The people who love you are already holding a light for you, you just have to let them.

Lean on your people. Let them in. That’s not weakness, that’s what they’re there for.

The tunnel feels long… but you were never walking it by

A good coach is two people in one body.

The one who hugs you when you cry about your macros and the one who watches you try to negotiate your way out of your last set like it’s a hostage situation.

Support? Always. But also no - you are not too tired to finish. 😂 Yes, I saw you skip that rep. No, the chocolate did not “fall” into your mouth.

The best coaching is equal parts cheerleader and that friend who tells you that you have spinach in your teeth. Both come from love. One is just louder.

This is your sign to find a coach who claps for you AND calls you out. Growth lives right in the middle of those two 🖤
