POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

From a teenage piano player in Singapore’s fine dining rooms to a £230 million London property deal, and discovering that when you meet people through music, there are no barriers.

In this week’s episode of The Quinntessential Questions Podcast with Paul Quinn, we sit down with Peter Ng, pianist, international property investor and cigar lounge founder of the beautiful Maduro in Sentosa.

From playing piano in Singapore’s restaurants to bringing London property to Singapore first, to creating a home for jazz and cigars, Peter shares powerful lessons on:

▶️ How a wedding performance led to a £230M deal
▶️ Why the news usually reaches you at the peak
▶️ Never selling what you know will cost your client
▶️ How to spot a business partner’s real motivation
▶️ Why deals can start over a cigar with no intent
▶️ Composing calm music for hospital treatment rooms

This conversation is a masterclass in trust, timing, and lasting relationships, from someone who has invested across Singapore, London and Tokyo.

💬 DM me “PIANO” and I’ll personally send you the full link to the episode

CELEBRATING SEVEN YEARS OF WONDERFUL JAZZ, WHISKY CIGARS AT MADURO! 🥂

A huge congratulations and thank you to my dear friend Peter Ng and his wonderful team at Maduro, celebrating seven years of creating something truly special in Singapore.

Tucked away in the beautiful Sofitel Singapore Sentosa, Maduro is much more than a cigar and whisky lounge. It’s a wonderful space where jazz, art, great conversations and friendships come together.

Over the years, it’s become one of my favourite places to escape to. Whether I’m enjoying a cigar, hosting a private meeting, jumping on a Zoom call or simply catching up with close friends, there’s something very special about the atmosphere Peter has created.

Last night’s anniversary celebration was no exception. An impromptu reunion with old friends and former clients turned into a wonderful evening of reminiscing and conversations about private banking, business, AI and life!

Another highlight was the launch of the Cyril Kongo x Maduro cigar box, celebrating the work of internationally acclaimed French graffiti artist Cyril Kongo, whose extraordinary artwork also takes centre stage at Maduro.

Cyril’s talent has even taken him into the world of Rolls-Royce, where he collaborated on five exclusive, individually hand-painted Black Badge Cullinan commissions.

Peter, congratulations on seven fantastic years. Thank you for your friendship, hospitality and for creating such a unique space.

If you’ve never visited Maduro, do yourself a favour. Settle into one of those beautiful armchairs, enjoy the jazz and soak up the atmosphere.

And stay tuned! I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Peter for an episode of The Quinntessential Questions Podcast.

Episode coming soon!

And finally thank you to the men I spent the majority of the evening with - it was fantastic! And a special shout out to Jeffrey (pic 3 & 7) who is world class at his job and a true gentleman.

👀 There’s a hidden lounge inside a Sentosa hotel you’ll want to know about.

Tucked inside Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, Maduro is where fine whisky, curated wines, and intimate lounge vibes set the scene for a different kind of gathering.

Think private client dinners, executive catch-ups, VIP celebrations, and networking nights that call for something beyond the usual function room.

First time running a solo on this tune. It can be liberating to really explore the music without thinking of singing or playing for dancers. Thanks to @amandaleelive for the invite to sing as part of her Swingtet - what I call the bare bones edition, where there is no band or dance(ers) to hide behind. It was good fun but more importantly, it pushed me past my comfort zones. Learnt much working with these amazing musicians (with Leo Jeoh on t-bone) and long time collaborators, with Amanda refining some of my arrangements of the tunes for the sets as well here at the amazing venue at @maduro.sg

Anyone recognize the tune?

The Amanda Lee Swingtet (bare bones edition!) @amandaleelive decided to end our set last night at @maduro.sg with a patriotic tune that speaks more of the role each one of us needs to play for success rather than dependence on anything else.

Happy 61st birthday Singapore! May we all continue to give our best for continued peace, progress, and prosperity.
