From deep in the archives. It’s been very cathartic reminding myself through my photo albums and friends how I’ve spent my 20’s and into my 30’s. Like the wise Skawwwewty Harris once said.. “[Experiences] always will be about the purpose you embrace in life and the characters you choose to share it with.” So, here’s a picture of the usuals. We’re all meeting up at @daveandbusters later this month for my annual bday celebration for all-you-can-skee skee-ball..

Wow. A decade at the Chicago cubs and have to say, it’s been an absolute f*cking blast. I mean, I never thought in a million years I’d become the “player guy” at a professional baseball team. I have experienced things I never thought I would, met people I’d never thought I’d meet, and made friends that will be with me until the end. I took so much pride in what I was able to accomplish. I worked my absolute ass off. I honestly just googled everything. My best google was “how to win the World Series.” Yeah, You’re welcome.

But The truth is, I am genuinely happy it’s over. At the end of it, the anxiety and frustrations of the job really consumed me. Over the final two years, those closest to me watched me spiral into serious depression. The worse it got, the more I tried to ignore it. I always felt anxious. I never made the effort to better myself or get help. It affected me, and ultimately my relationship. It was really confusing for me to go from an always-happy, and always joking around, to being confused, angry, anxious, frustrated and absolutely mentally exhausted. I really lost myself. I really let myself down.

I sincerely miss being me. I miss being happy. And most of all, I really miss making people laugh. I am going to continue to work hard on myself and slowly build myself back.

I hope I did something cool or nice for each of you along the way. I always tried to do what I thought was the right thing and tried to help those that really deserved it.

I don’t know what I will do next, but I know I will be laughing when I do it.

Thank you SO MUCH to the individuals from the cubs who always had my back. I will miss seeing you guys. I really feel for those who were let go. I know it feels like the end of the world. Text me. But just remember, it could be worse... they could have laid you off twice. 😉

Love you all. Let's celebrate whenever. 🍻
