I kept seeing this graffiti across NYC. It felt meaningful and appropriate for so many reasons.

I've now learnt that HOMESICK is a well-known NYC graffiti artist whose work can be seen across the city. His work reflects the changing face of New York, particularly gentrification, displacement and the disappearance of the old New York.

It also feels appropriate for the many different people who move to NYC. And it certainly felt appropriate for me, as NYC was the last stop in our epic travel adventure, before we headed home to Cape Town.

And If tomorrow I’m gone, remember the happy times. Time heals everything, even permanent scars! Remember the sun always comes out after the gray days. 🪽
