First stop on Mᴀʜᴇ́ Jᴏᴜʀɴᴇʏs is home to the revered Ghee Roast and Kori Gassi - Mangalore, officially known as Mangaluru. A major industrial port city, Mangaluru is on the west coast of India, located between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats and 14 km north of Karnataka–Kerala border. Mangalore is the state's only city to have all four modes of transport—air, road, rail and sea, making its culinary culture very unique.

Our culinary journey in Mangaluru takes us through the cuisines of the various communities of the region, discussions with celebrated chefs, while exploring breakfast classics from the Tullu Nadu region, scrumptious fish thalis, the city's aromatic Biryani culture influenced by the Mangalorean Muslim community, understanding variations of gassi and savoring the freshest of seafood.

72 hours of gluttony in #Goa:
1. Drank some sunshine with a side of cocktails @piscobythebeach. Other recommended places for their views during the monsoon @thelazygoosegoa @slowtidegoa @sazonthebeach @titliegoa @pousadabythebeachgoa
2. Fish thali at Vinayak Family Restaurant in #Assagao, featuring sol kadhi, rawa crusted kingfish, clam sukka, Goan prawn and crab curry.
3. Scooped up the fried crust for some velvety butter garlic crab @avoskitchengoa in #Anjuna. Not photographed here is some of the best sol kadi I’ve had. The kitchen also serves all kinds of seafood—think oysters, lobsters, king prawns, mussels and fish in a range of preparations from rawa fry to raechado.
4. Mopped up this mutton pepper roast with flaky bun parotta in seconds @hosagoa in #Soilim. Now eight months old, Hosa does a brilliant job at capturing the diversity of South Indian food beyond idli-dosa and chicken sukka. Also try the almond 65 (their vegetarian take on the chicken 65), the vada kari tacos and the guntur crab fry with soft neer dosas.
5. Visited @antonioat31 in #Panjim for their tamarind whisky sour, but also savoured some of their poha-crusted prawns with a crunch loud enough for your neighbour to hear. Also try @makutsugoa—by the same team behind Antonio 31—which is known for its yakitori and is just a two-minute walk from the bar.
6. Even writing about @padaria_prazeres pastèis de natas (Portuguese egg tarts) makes my mouth water. That's enough said!
7. Paniyaram gets a fun twist with shiitake mushrooms @mahegoa
8. Slow-roasted pork belly cooked on woodfire served with a fiery nam jim jaew dressing @village36goa in #Assagao. Relatively new, Village 36 brings street-style, hawker food from Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Taiwan, South Korea and Vietnam to Goa. Don't miss out on their inhouse pineapple whisky and banana rum liqueur.
9. Chonak delicately marinated in lime chilli coriander sauce, and wrapped and steamed in a banana leaf at the all-time favourite @bomrasgoa
10. Was quite bummed that I missed seeing the gorgeous rainbow in Mumbai a week ago. But just when I looked up from my phone, there it was! The perfect ending to a glorious 72 hours in Goa.
